Will the 'user scale' ever be editable by the Beatstep Pro itself, not the midi command centre? That way you could have live pitch quantizing which would be excellent.

I just got beatstep pro today , how do you stop other sequencers from running when you press play, On my Sh01a the onboard sequencer starts , i have not tried it on my MicroFreak yet . Also what do i do for instance if i want the Microfreak's sequencer to start on play and not the onboard sh01a's sequencer to start but for beatstep's sequencer to play the sh01 , i hope this makes sence, midi newbie. Thanks for the video, i found it really helpful . It would be nice if the settings page on the Midi Control Center were colour coded or each section was separated in a table , all those settings together seem scary for newbie to midi

Midi out of one into the midi in of the other, make sure your tracks are all different midi channels and the one that is leading is set to internal clock and the one its out leads to is set to midi, and you're good to control 7 midi instruments.
I'd like to know another way to configure seq velocity scaling than hearing, maybe with some synth parameter? Is there a formula or method for doing that?

Hi Fabian, I'm not Jakub so I can't give you precise information. But I do use a MiniBrute 2 and a BeatStep Pro and they are really easy to set up, both on a DAWless environment or within Ableton for example. Our Support team will be able to help you if you need help in the future. Cheers!
For what do you need This Sequencer when you have a DAW? You have Only Two Melody Sequenz and One Drumsequenz. You can make Sequences in your DAW too. And when you have More as two Synthesizer without a Sequencer then its Not enough
It would be very useful to show how you assign knobs to control certain parameter knobs either on your analog gear or within your daw. I would hope it’s as simple as turning the knob you want to control, and then turning the knob on beatstep you want it assigned to. You should have shown that the minute you talked about it in the beginning . It doesn’t just magically happen!

My microfreak and now this beatstep pro is my first encounter of midi via 3.5m. +Plus I was confused about an A type (standard) & B (type not so standard) midi adaptor, or so I've been led to believe 🤔 it came with the adaptors, so problem sorted. I'm pretty sure you still have to assign things with the software though... which was pretty disappointing to me as was trying to avoid that. I bought the smaller beat step hoping I wouldnt have to do that to trigger my akai mpx8, saw someone do it and wanted that...have had it for a few days. And without using software I can not get it to even recognize the device. I have a regular beatstep though, but I dont imagine it's much different in this regard.
I landed here looking for a solution I've spent hours trying to find, so I haven't watched this (long) video yet. Here's what I want to do but have been failing repeatedly: Use the BSP as a Master to slave LPX7 playback/rec. I preferred to do this using DIN Midi but didn't get anywhere with getting LPX7 to respond. Using USB instead, I was able to trigger LPX7 to play but not control tempo from the BSP. I'm reading manuals and messing about with all of LPX7's sync & MIDI prefs, along with Arturia's MMC software device prefs, but to no avail. The BSP manual seems to only talk about sending "MIDI clock" signals, but isn't clear whether MTC is meant, or literally, only ppq clock pulses. Either way, I've matched ppq pulses in LPX7 but...still no love. Does anyone have a resource, or has LPX7 slaved to the BSP successfully? I'm lost and gutted here. Any help appreciated.
I use the bsp to trigger drums and voices on my mod case. its connected with usb and it runs nicely in sync with Live. However if I decide to record a midi clip the nightmare begins. For some reason I can't explain the BSP cannot playback anything unless first is recorded on its own seq. So yes if u record a line then go to Live and record that into a midi clip, it works ok. You mute the sequencer and can edit the clip fine. But if u decide to play from the pads and record directly in Live then you get silence. I can see the event been recorded but not played back. WHY, WHY, WHY
I’ve gotten mine to work with the camera USB adapter (the one with charger input). But it is finicky. The order of plugging in usually matters, I have to plug in the beatstep to the camera USB adapter, then plug the adapter into the iPad. The beatstep will flicker on and off because it needs more power, next plug the lightning charger into the USB adapter. This usually works, if it doesn’t I just unplug and try again.
how did you get to control your ableton send in the control mode? it seems that you skipped one step, because I tried and it doesn't t work. I think I have to assign them first. I wish that people who do toutos would be more specific. Don t you think that you are talking to pros. Pros don t watch these videos
Can the beatstep work with only Ableton? So working with the sound of VST's? For instance sounds from Diva VST and arpeggiate it with beatstep or making beats with any plugins and beatstep pro. Also possible to get the sound of the the 3 main section (1 synth 1 bass 1 drum) from 3 different VST? Let ssay Lead from Massive Pad from Diva and the drum ia fro. a drumrack in Ableton? I just bought one and I'm happy with it and learning about how to use it with Ableton to take full advantage of the BSP features

so, does sequencer 1 cv and sequencer 2cv function as two additional tracks or are they just for additional control of the other 2 sequencers?

So Did you use a male midi type A or B to 3.5mm jack to go in to the microfreak for the connection to the beatstep pro midi cable ?
It's easier to use a 3.5mm jack on both sides ;)

Hi! Yes it has CV and MIDI outputs, you can use it in a 100% hardware setup, as well as a 100% software setup, and everything in between :)

The drum track can be set to chromatic in the midi control center. You can then play chords but only over 1 octave.
