- I have been a fan of the Erie Dearie for many years due to its versatility, its efficiency and its simplicity, and it catches anything that swims! Here are 3 reasons why you may want to be using Erie Dearies, the next time you chase suspended walleye.

I am a seasoned small mouth fisherman who just recently started fishing for Walleye and I found your video very helpful thank you!
Thanks for the kind words, friend. If you can find them ol brown fish, you bv have no trouble finding Walter. LOL
Yep, have been a fan of the Erie Dearie for a looong time. I use a stinger for the short biters.
I have considered that, but haven't tried it.
You are a very good teacher. I kind of gave up on Erie Dearies to troll with as all I hear about is trolling with harnesses, and on those harnesses use willow blades. Like you said, the Erie Dearie has everything in the package. Choose a color and a weight and attach a night crawler. Easy to carry that gear in the boat. Thank you for bringing back a tool I had forgot about, the Erie Dearie!
Bruce
Thanks for the kind words, my friend! As I've said before, the Erie Dearie isnt neccesarily for everyone, but I think they can certainly benefit many anglers, and they are a tool that every walleye angler should have in thier box.
Good one, as always.
Thanks friend!
Great video 👍
Thanks for the visit
I am new to walleye fishing Saginaw Bay and the tributaries near Bay City. I am from Ilinois used to fishing the Kankakee River. Your instruction videos are great and I am learning a lot of new things. Thanks for all the videos and I just want you to know that your endings talking about knowing Jesus is a great testament. Jesus said I will make you fishers of men. You are doing the Lords work while enjoying this activity that God created. What a deal! 😃 God bless and keep you safe.
Thanks for the kind words Bruce! I have been incredibly blessed, and I love that I have an opportunity to proclaim God's Word, while doing what I love to do. I promise to continue to try and bring quality fishing content to this channel, while always being faithful to the work of Building His Kingdom, that I have been called to do.
Great job. That cat at the 4:20 mark looked like a chunk.
It was a biggun! Thanks for watching Brother!
Do you remember the Swim Jig made by EZ Action Products out of Battle Creek back in the 80s and early 90s?? Same concept as the ED but the body wobbles on the retrieve or troll. They work great wherever walleye swim😃😃. I’ll make sure that I have a few extra when I see you on the river this spring in Detroit. Tight lines TJ 🎣🎣🎣
Jack, I don't recall that brand, however I have used a couple of knock off brands, overbthe years. Its, in general, just a killer way to present live crawlers to the toothy critters! Looking forward to seeing you out there!
Do people ever use these in the river? Shore guy here, curious about casting these from shore
That's a great question. I dont see why not. I would try the 3/4 & 1 once.
@@TeamJesusOutdoors cool im going down in the rain tomorrow morning. I have a few of those 3\4 and 1oz. Perhaps ill give it a shot
I will be expecting to hear how you do. I hope you will give us a follow up.
@@TeamJesusOutdoors north east wind...not much action at all for anyone down there. Used a one ounce, casted and let it hit bottom and retrieved slowly. Wanted to fish deep but even the 1 oz fished slow seemed to come up a bit high in the current. Not a bump.
Two sheepshead on a blade bait, which is a new lure for me and Im loving them. Really want to try those next spring for walleye. I'm going to give the ol Erie Derie another shot on a day it seems like there are more fish around. I'll report back.
What test line were you using? Thanks for sharing brother!! Enjoy the weekend!!
I was using braid (15 pound and 30 pound, with a long mono leader of 14 pound) while my buddies rods were all straight mono, so I don't believe that line made much difference. My normal trolling set ups are either straight mono (10 pound) or straight flouro (14 or 16 pound).
Can I put these on a 6 ounce cattail sinker with a three foot leader like a worm harness or will it just drag bottom for 50 to 60 feet of water, what do you think? Thanks team Jesus
It may work if you use the lighter Erie Dearies, and adjust the weight of your sinker until you find the proper weight.
Are you using Erie Dearies?
Dearies in the daytime slow on the bottom and stickbaits up high at night
Sounds reasonable to me
Hey sir! Question are these effective in the spring as well? I know said summer, but I think I want to try them here soon. I have a 17ft aluminum that isnt set up for trolling great. But wanna get some Walleye. Thanks! God Bless!
They would probably be effective in late Spring, like 50 degree water and higher, after the spawn. That would be my guess. Mid May ish.
Hi, what speeds do you recommend?
I find that anywhere in the vacinity of 1mph to 1.5 mph will get the job done on most days. I rarely troll at speeds less than 1mph. Thanks for watching!
Been fishing Lake Erie walleye over 30 years never tried Erie deries always just trolled
If your an experienced troller, then Erie Dearie's wouldn't be much help to you most days. It is s nice change up once and a while.
Video & photo 101. Keep the sun or the light in the face of the subject, not at the back
Easier said than done, but you are correct
