    This is one of the best rants that I heard all week. Let me suggest that you prepare for your next rant. You can prepare over the next several days, as we are about to be hit by more "atmospheric rivers," here in Vancouver.
    Something that burns my ass is when I hear people whine and cry that they had no idea there was a state of emergency due to the weather. Did they miss the bulletin back in the 60's, with regards to future environmental catastrophe? What about the 80's, when there was so much discussion about strip mining and the contamination of world waters? Certainly, governments all around the world could have put their foot down in the 90's and require that all corporations cleanup the chemicals and destruction used to harvest resources. In the 2000's, why were we not rising up angry when we came to fully see that politicians were selling off the resources and continuing the genocide of the original inhabitants? Here we are in the 2020's and politicians are nowhere to be found and environmental activists are jailed as terrorists.
    Your rant was on point. Deep appreciation!

    Interesting video and particularly liked your insight into the relation between fires and landslides! To me, the saddest of all that happened is the amount of farm animals that have perished :(

      Grigor!! I hope you're doing well :) -- but yeah it is really sad. The poor animals didn't stand a chance & had no place to run. :( such a shame

    I saw your friend's TikTok.
    I work for a national courier. It has been CRAZY. One day we had to go through Vancouver to get freight from Victoria to Nanaimo (which are both on Vancouver Island.) There is a huge shortage of trailers and air containers because they are lined up on either side of BC waiting to get through. Oh, and we are coming up on the busiest week of the year in the transportation industry.

      oh yeah -- black friday is going to be rough. yikes. My thoughts are with you & all the folks in the transportation industry

    I love the F bombs. Seriously it's why I subscribed. I am thinking about moving to Vancouver (myself wife and toddler: I work in the dental field). I think I'm going to wait until things get better (covid / mudslides). You're absolutely right about transportation. Ive been waiting for packages for months to arrive in Toronto (I'm not complaining) infact it's totally understandable: just an acknowledgement of your statement.

      Happy to hear that you found it helpful John! Best of luck with the eventual move :) I hope all goes well!

    I'm scared for our future and I'm scared for the interior. Looking for a cabin on Vancouver Island instead, I don't trust the interior now

      probably a good move, we got a cabin in the interior and we've experienced every possible natural disaster sincce (we only got it 6 months ago...) hahaha

      I hope so too. I just wish that the gov & political leaders took these things more seriously... like we can be proactive in the decisions we make instead of being reactive in crisis. but fingers crossed!

    Listen, as much as we masochistically enjoy social media to distract ourselves from various world ending news, once in a while "interrupting our regular program" to address current and serious issues is in my opinion necessary to make people remember what is going on in the real world. After all, what's the point in watching RUclips videos about how to turn your home into a Pinterest gallery if it starts floating away down Main Street.

      hahah great point. also I enjoy your use of the word "masochistically" - admittedly I had not heard this term used before but after a quick google search I am one day wiser & one word more knowledgable. 👏🏼 thanks Henry

    Hey! Great content, really enjoy it so far! Sad to see people suffer though. Could you make a video about finding a job in Vancouver? I´ve worked in Richmond in a Restaurant 5 years ago as a student from Germany and now I want to move to Van as a mechanical Engineer. I´ve heard that it´s best to look for a job when you are acutally there so you can go to interviews and stuff instead of applying from far away. Would be grateful for any tips.

    The barge should remain as a reminder of the reality of climate change.

      The barge is no longer a threat, from this point forward it is an installation

    Hi, one question about the video where you talked about the rooms & housing in Vancouver. I‘ll have some viewings soon, can you maybe tell me what are important things to look at? How does it works, do you have to sign a contract or something like that? Sorry, I‘m new to Van😅

    • @HarmonieV
      @HarmonieV  2 года назад +1

      No worries! So when you go for showings, make sure you bring proof of income, a bank statement and ID, because if you like an apartment you'll want to sign the contract ASAP. The market is competitive, but if you go to the viewings prepared, you have a better chance of getting the place you want :) I hope that makes sense & helps!

    Damn gotta consider rising sea levels for Vancouver too.

    How do we get them to remove the shipwrecks? That should definitely not happen!! it could be reused potentially or recycled properly

    I was thinking of moving to Vancouver next year in August. Do you still recommend it with all these extreme weather patterns?

    • @HarmonieV
      @HarmonieV  2 года назад

      It depends. If you're moving from within canada, sure because it's an easy transition and if you change your mind you can always go back. If you're coming internationally, maybe not? it also depends what region you want to live in. In the end, global warming will affect us all, so that's true independent of location
