It's always astonishing how good vintage P90s like this can go from sounding like an acoustic guitar to sounding thicker than a humbucker with a turn of the volume knob. Shame so few modern ones sound that good.
Marshall + Gibson SG = SUPER CLASSIC ROCK EXPERIENCE ✌🤘🔥
In my opinion the pre 66 SG juniors are superior to the specials. I have one of each and I always choose the Junior live. They just invoke attitude and make you think more as a player. You will learn to love your volume and tone controls with a Junior.
Back in the '90's, I met the cats from the Cardigans (amazing band). Their guitar player Peter had more than one early '60s TV yellow SG Specials and a few of those 4x10" Bluesbreakers. And he could play his ass off!
What a cool guitar. It looks and sounds awesome.
Love that black and yellow combination! Sounds great with that Marshall 👍
Single pickup LP JR's all have great sounds.....from acoustic bell like tones to raunchy classic rock. Tone and volume control adjustments are the key.
Epi '20 LP Jr here. I love it.
After playing since '73, i never got so deep, even with a bit of everything here.
Gig, hit boxes or channels. One door opened a mile of tones..
People talk so much shit on P90s and always want Humbuckers. No clue why because I prefer the P90, you are correct you just roll that tone and volume and you get sounds you didn't even know it could make on its own.
What a stunner. Love it. Fantastic playing as always man.
My dad when he was a teenager had a 61 Lp jr and a 65 fender Princeton reverb. And he meticulously keeps his stuff in like new condition. He traded the 61 Lp for an acoustic which he then traded for a surfboard…which he then broke in half on a pier… the PR he traded for a Vox super beetle because he was a huge Beatles fan, but that fell apart early and he moved it on when he stopped playing electric… 😩😭
Cool. that guitar would be a dream to own now. ..the guys who had this kinda cool gear in the 60s were digging it then but now I bet they all wish they hadn't sold or traded it. Cool story man
That’s a cool but sad story 😆
Yes! More SG content is a win!
My 62 has been sitting at the shop waiting for fret work and this video doesn’t help me not miss it! I do find it interesting this one doesn’t say les paul on the headstock. My 62 is the same way, and is factory white which I understand was a custom order color and every white 62 I’ve seen didn’t say les paul so I’m assuming by that point in time they knew what was coming and didn’t do it to special orders 🤷🏻♂️ wonder if TV yellow from 61 would go the same way?
Great ! See that little 'lean back' when the vol got rolled up ?
Like a visual "Oh YEAH!!"
Outstanding.
I have a cherry red, all original 62 LP (SG) Junior. It is TRM (total rock machine)! The best guitar I have ever played.
As a Polaris white ‘67 SG jr owner, I approve of this video
No one asked you.
And what are you, some sort of Disgusting narcissist that thinks you have the power to co sing a certain model of guitar !?🤔
@@auntjenifer7774 awww. You’re cute.

What an absolute BEAUTY of a guitar
Oh my god this is just too cool not to click on.
Brilliant addition, Aaron! Well played and keep it up!
Simply superb sir.
$10K is a pretty good chunk o' change for that Marshall, but what a beauty! I can imagine it powered up with my custom strat...my goodness.
Very Pete Townshend on the Rock n Roll Circus rendition of "A quick one" He used an SG special into a Soundcity full stack with a tone bender fuzz but the tone he got was nearly identical to this.
Thought he used hiwatt around that time? Maybe that’s closer to live at leeds era
@@jr13227 Look up the footage, you can clearly see it's a Sound city
I acquired one of these that I traded a Rick 365 Goldtim for plus he gave me $100. It was cherry red when I got it. My intention was to use it for Slide only as my main axe was a 57 Strat. I decided it would look good with a satin golden oak finish and sanded all of the cherry off. I also got rid of the pickguard (yes lost it somewhere back in the 70s...) and painted the p-90 and the truss rod cover a nice light tan color. It looked amazing and I had it that way for years. I moved from California to Texas in 95 and since I wasn't gigging with a band with this new family (4 daughters) move I needed to pay Uncle Sam for the banner amount of Taxes owed and sold it for $5500. (Crazy things we do in life) Fast forward to about 2008 and I decided I wanted to restore my '62LPJr and did my best to get the paint off the pickup and backplate. It came out well. Had to find some vintage Klusens and trade them out for the Schalers that I had put on in the 70s. Obtained a repro vintage pickguard and proceeded to try and see what I could sell it for. By the way, I had also sanded the Gibson and LPjr off when I was insanely customizing this charmer. Most everybody said too bad about the finish and headstock decals... I finally ended up trading it for a Parkwood Acoustic Electric which is my main gigging guitar today.... Just another Rock n' Roll Story!
This things sounds really cool!
Ran my 1961 LP Jr SG through a small Pig Nose amp from the 1970's. P 90 roared. Not bad.
Sounds great
I’m trying to decide if I should build one. I don’t need it, but they sound so good.
Just to think that years ago, all of this was available at a local music store. Not exact, but you get the picture
Nice!!! I want Junior
Broke out into DMB lol
That is sick
That’s a 61. The bridge is at an angle, last year for that .
That is flat-out SEXY!
"Crash into meeee yeahhhhhh"
WoW!!!
It says 61, you said 62?
That's a rig right there...
P-90 baby.......ooh yeah
WOW
Wow
Jesus H Christ.....I want one.......
It's no burst but I like it.
I think Aaron earned this guitar.
🤤
I love used guitar places cause they low ball a person selling their guitar and do nothing but then increase the price and sell it.So basically they are there to rip people off.
I have a black pickguard esquire, as well as a les paul junior. I’m in love with both. I do want an sg junior. I have an sg, so it’s only right.
Completely boring uninspiring tone, all the way through. Dull, bassy, lacking bite and the usual howl from a good P90. Maybe it's the 10's in that combo, or the guitar needs new strings, or something wrong with the pickup. Lots of folks hearing with their eyes here.
It's the player
Not more boring than you.
Rock n Roll Clapton😅
