Really great video, I had some trouble following some of the competitive-related stuff since I'm out of the loop, but the video was still well structured and overall I got an idea of the way auction's priority works.
What's great about the game is that there are so many players of different levels ;) Jump by the stream sometime--you'll see that there are quick things to pick up on that can make you immediately more competitive

Great video! Question, how much does the fact that there are 2 shipping pass tiles that Dwarves don't want affect their relative strength? I would never bid on them first in that setup.
Heyo! Excellent question. In my opinion it's more important to take note of the pass tiles that you CAN work with rather than those you can't. Remember, Mermaids, Nomads, and even Halflings are all going to be vying for that shipping tile anyway, and just because it's in the game doesn't mean that you won't have other bonus scoring options with the Dwelling and TP bonuses present. Dwarves in particular don't need priests to upgrade their shipping, so they can oftentimes stockpile them to make sure that they can stall for whichever bonus tiles they want later during the game. definitely In the actual game I took this example from, the Dwarves ended up winning, and the commentators, as well as most of the top players post-game, noted that Dwarves should have been bet down even lower. I hope I was able to justify why I believe they were correct in that assessment.
@@themanicpineapple8772 "Dwarves should have been bid lower" is a common sentence to be heard even in top elo games, it's my main faction and they have many ways to win. An opening I really enjoy in some setups is SA R1 double eco favour ( mostly Earth2 Fire1 ) 🩶

We'll have ourselves a game this summer to refresh your memory ;)
Nice video on a very specific topic! TM is my favourite game (though I am unlikely to ever try to play competitively).

Thank you so much :)
I am trying to learn how to play auction. I will teach it to my 8 year old.
Looking forward to seeing a new generation grow up with this game ;) I'll be teaching it to my kids too someday
@@themanicpineapple8772 can I have the link to the Fakir none landscape game?
