    I realize we are thousands of miles apart,,but that part of France, looks like this part of Missouri in the U.S. (thankx-FB40)

      I grew up in the US Midwest and see similarities in some areas in France, and in nature in general. There are horse flies and deer flies, but also a very hard fly I never saw in Minnesota called a "mouche plate" or flat fly that is very hard and likes to stay around the base of the tail or warm underbelly of the horse (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippobosca_equina). I never saw milkweed here or sand burs, but we do have the standard thistles, dock weed and horsetail that we have to deal with in the fields!
