Hi Luke, you probably already know this but it´s really important that you water the concrete pylons every day for at least the next 10 days to slow down the curing process of the cement especially in this dry hot climate we´re having. If you don´t the cement will crack and crumble. I´m building stone walls at the moment and I do it last thing in the evening so the water doesn´t evaporate stratight away.
Dirk really made a big difference with the suyveying, passing on skills that Luke needs to go forward, and he brought so much love, especially for Molly. Not that she was lacking. The more, the merrier😁❤
Hi Sarah and Luke lovely video again… always makes me smile 😊 Molly broke my hart howling! Give here a big hug and kiss from me. And wow that river is wild… indeed a pity it is not like that all year round. But then you have to build a bridge for Molly to meet the neighbor’s dog 😉And Sarah your paper making looks great love the one with the flowers in it. And Yeah I finally have a tower named after me…. (eat that Trump 😉 ) I’ll bring the copper plate to put on it and the official inauguration next year in May. And many thanks to you all for the kind words upon me. But trust me Sarah and Luke just bring the best out of you. I had a wonderful time with them and looking forward to next May to go back and stay at their beautiful place !!!
Thank you Dirk ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ and 🤣🤣 .The river is already going down because they already closed the dam again but when you come in May it will hopefully be that full again we are all looking forward to seeing you again... except Meatball of course 🤣🤣
Yeah I also noticed that but it is drilled in with 4 rebars in the granite rock under need it and when the ground is back up against the column it won’t tip over . It just needs to get vertical forces into the ground
You two are fun to watch. I'm in Saint Louis, Missouri USA. I enjoy your channel, I really enjoyed last week's show on Sarah's morning walk with the animals. It was very artistic.
I love the mix of human made and natural features on your land --- that massive wall you cleared is gorgeous as the goats walk along and the boulders that create so many nooks and crannies. Always a pleasure to see the ruins that dot the landscape whether on top of the hill or tucked under boulders.
Hi to you both from Thailand. Love all you do. So many new adventures. This is for Luke. I had some teak trees cut down by a local mountain guy recently that he had girdled 6 months ago. He then came back yesterday and chainsawed them into two 6 m long x 20 cm square posts. He used a Macktech angle grinder repurposed into an electric chainsaw with an oilcan oiler located next to the trigger handle. Wish I could send you pictures. Keep up all your wonderful adventures. You make my days.
Thanks so much Raymond ❤️❤️,We would love that. If you can send the pic either via Instagram or email at lukeandsarahsoffgridlife@gmail.com that would be awesome.
Molly has to be the sweetest dog ever - she is just such a cutie! Wow the river is looking brilliant - it is such a beautiful spot and now Luke has back hydrotherapy - white water rafting is yet another activity you can add to your list of amazing adventures on your beautiful land. The view from Boulder valley must be spectacular. Blasted brambles - I really hope that some of the berries grow back. Blooming heck not only has the phone passed the Luke test but those night vision pictures are just great! We have loads of praying Mantis at the moment - may be worth looking for and they are super photogenic!
awww, so sweet to see Molly howling in despair at Dirk leaving. I can see that Luke still struggles with his back, his posture gives it away. Luke please try not to do anything too strenuous!
@@lukeandsarahsoffgridlife I guessed as much as he has 'ants in his pants' and cant sit still for 5 mins! lol.. Luke, chill out, stop and give your back a chance to heal! 🙂
thanks love watching your videos and seeing the girls growing up. Paper making oh yes I have done this and incorporated flowers. Yours looked so good Sarah. Bye to Dirk and to be missed so much by Miss Mollie, a broken hearted pup if ever.
Sarah I live the idea of making paper. I can think of many ways to use it. Glad your back is better Luke. You have to give it some time so with the heat it’s a good time to take it easy. Sorry to see Dirk go but I’m sure he’ll be back. Love and best wishes from South Carolina.
Have been enjoying your videos very much. Here in California we also have a very summer dry climate. I would recommend Luke find a light physical therapy for his back. If not in person I recommend videos of Feldenkrais sessions on line. I find this therapy resets muscles and connective tissue in a gentle way. Watch a video all the way through before doing the movement and never push it past a gentle stretch. Hoping you find your way full health.
Great video watched from start as missed the beginning Wow that water was awesome in the river Loved watching the video of meatball so funny Definitely going to try making paper got lots of scrap paper I’ve been doing twinning with rhubarb and going to do some with lavender Thank you for sharing 😁
Luke not sure if you can get turmeric with black pepper capsules from a chemist or health store they are great for Bone health, check it out. Also a good back support not the type that just goes round your waste but one the type that covers your whole spine, one can order online. Sarah I love your papermaking, what a great idea. ❤
great video as always and SO GREAT to see Dirk one last time :D I can't forget the people that commented on Meatball's antics, thinking he must be sick and call a vet and who knows what was suggested... He's not sick, he's just a goofball. Love your videos as always
As usual, another interesting video. I'm glad Luke is trying to take it easy on his back. I've hurt my back too & it can be debilitating. I still have to do exercises to strengthen my muscles so I don't reinjure it.
Hey Luke… love all the vids.. if yur doing concrete moulds… for a good end product.. I find if you have a reciprocating saw… take the blade out and put the blade end of the saw against the form and vibrate that concrete….perfect end result…. 😀
Hi Luke and Sarah great video again from you guys . Sarah you were saying about the berry bush's you planted had died because they dried out well I was watching videos on how to make a vacuum pump for watering fields and plants . There is a RUclips channel called ( Learn for ideas ) in which the guys show how to make this happen . I know it's a question of money too but it doesn't look too expensive to make . and the waters free once you make it happen. If you have a well near your your vegetable plot you could use this idea for watering aswell. Have a look at their vids and see what you think .
Luke as much as you want this job to happen you have to take care of your back and give yourself a proper break at least a whole month of doing nothing
Hi James.. it's been a month that I have been taking it easy already and I am definitely much better but still a little delicate 😄 Can't do much anyway in this heat ATM so that's good
Just a random comment 🤪 We are about 8 billion people on Earth. If we give each of them 100 m2, we get an occupied surface of 800 billion m2, i.e. 800,000 km2. A country with this area is Mozambique. The area represents 0.15% of the total surface of the globe and 0.53% of the land area. The remaining 99.47% would represent territory not occupied by humans. Desert. If a similar calculation is made in which man is related, with how much he consumes, to natural resources (total, not just those in exploitation) comparable results are obtained in order of magnitude. That is, zero point. The water? Two thirds of the earth's surface is water. 70.8%. If you also count the volume, human consumption reaches the level of a drop in an ocean. This is how the "ecological" theories begin... those with exhausted resources, global warming, the rapid reduction of the population and other satanisms of the Western billionaire buffoons, the biggest enemies of humanity in history!

That river is beautiful. Glad you got a break in the heat. 🐕🐈🐐🐐🐐🐖🐖🐓

I think that concrete column moved when you removed the wooden cast around it. Might be best to check it.
