I can't believe I'm seeing this for the first time in 22 years. This was the very first episode of "Nightmare Ned" that I saw and got me interested into the series.
Wait the bully sounds like Carl jeez he makes sperg and Francis laugh at him at least they sound more menacing and they have a bone to pick with Billy and Timmy turner respectively yes I used to watch billy and Mandy and fairly odd parents
was 16 in 997 ..but when i heard of it being a lost series a couple years back .. it looked familiar .. pretty sure i seen an episode or two in the day ..it was so familiar ... it's like a time capsule .. makes me recall that era .. i would still watch ABC or Saturday cartoons once in a while.. ..Ned is a awesome show getting to watch it on youtube ,,
This just feels like Disney is ripping off The Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Laboratory with the main character being a human expy of Courage The Cowardly Dog(which premiered 2 years after the series was cancelled by ABC and it had better scary tales and visuals than the series ever had) right down to the same style(even through the lines in the show are much thinner than the characters in Dexter and PPG), using the same WB/Hanna-Barbera sound effects(Disney would later use these sound effects again 16 years later in Wander Over Yonder,a show by Powerpuff Girls Creator,Craig McCracken) and a few of the same writers who worked on Dexter(including Conrad Vernon)and some of the same VA's from Dexter and Powerpuff's(Jeff Bennett,Kath Soucie,Rob Paulsen,Jim Cummings) worked on Ned,even Brad Garrett,The voice of Ned's Dad,guest starred on Dexter in a segment of Dial M for Monkey. The Battle between Monster Ned and Abraham Lincoln reminds me of the Dexter Laboratory episode”Rushmore Rumble”
McCraeTheMediaLover1999 oh shut up ned was never a ripoff it was originally a computer game but it became into a cartoon and it’s not a rippoff look at more episodes
I see your point. Remove the nightmares and replace them with inventions, and you'd get a Dexter's Laboratory clone. And Courage technically came before Ned, having a What A Cartoon starring him debut in 1996. In fact, I have plans for when I time-travel to ressurrect Nightmare Ned, this time as a franchise...if I can get Renzetti, McCracken and Tartakovsky on board. And I'd state a possible reason why Nightmare Ned got the axe: while the thought of a mother saving her son as shown in "The Accordion Lesson" is indeed a positive message and the thought to tackle nightmares head on (which Pajama Sam did great on) is indeed ahead of its time, the messages -- from having cousins forcing one of their own to their own pastimes instead of letting them enjoy it naturally and breaking their toys and stealing them in return to having someone with a obvious vendetta against someone they hate misinterpreted as family to having one dream that has pigs trying to eat you tell you to "play nice" like any other food (while corn (itself a vegetable) and chicken (itself part of the meat and beans group) are healthy, hot dogs, being processed meat, aren't and are also made from pigs) while having another in where having irate vegetables who want to eat you and sacrifice you to a rabbit (who doesn't eat meat) -- could not be more wrong and as TV Tropes states, the treatment the characters (save for the little girl from "Magic Bus") give Ned borders on plain wrong. Even some of the foes Courage faced would be genuinely appalled at what the monstrosities possibly disguised as harmless things are doing to Ned. And the director stated to me that the budget was the reason there was no Nightmare Ned anymore.

Yes, apparently it's the same voice actor.
The Legendary Rob Paulsen
Great job! Last Nightmare Ned episode that was lost! The whole season is now found. Can't get over the dang white noise though.
I don’t mind it. I mean it’s a little distracting, but it’s nostalgic.,
