Actually, the original hymn from 1628 is based on Psalm 100, and the fourth verse is what we call the Doxology. Many people have come to know it only by the final verse. Because this was a setting of Psalm 100, the tune was called "The Old 100th".
A dream of mine is to have a concert of worship music with all sorts of genres in one venue to evangelize people with.. Emu Music would so be a headliner because this song definitely has helped me personally so much through some really dark times..but as always.. it's Jesus (God) who's doing the work..we are just his instruments 🙏🏼
If anyone's interested, the speed of this recording is approx minim* = 67. It sounds like (amazingly) they weren't playing to a click track! * "half note" for our American cousins, I think And congratulations to Alanna and the Emu team for finally putting that clumsy line "Approach with joy His courts unto" out of its misery... Why, just the other day I was approaching with joy my local Tesco's unto... 😁
If you are listening to this, wondering if there is a God - He is real. He is complete, tender love and He wants to know you. Look for Him and you'll easily find Him
Hi Jimmy, we're sorry you find it annoying. We kept the lyrics of the hymn and added a refrain that we hope helps people to lift their hearts and voices to the Lord. We finish with the traditional Old 100th which has historically been sung to the same tune. We hope you can still enjoy our arrangement! Thanks, Liv
This is one of the BEST renditions of this hymn with the Doxology 🙏 to finish it out ...🥺I love it 🙏
Thanks for the encouragement!
