leaving fundamentalist Christianity Pentecostalism to be exact i finally realized all the shitty abuse within that system that denomination that cult... all the control... all the rules the manipulation the fear tactic of hell and burning forever worms eating out my eyes... the weight of trying to be perfect trying to be "like sister so and so" because who i really wanted to be was a flat out "NO!".... pressure.... the daily dedication to something that caused me to be so measurably unhappy... so one day.... i finally broke... and i came to the darkest place ever.... wishing i had never been born... wishing maybe it would be better to just be dead.... i laid in bed... wanting for all the pain to just go away... as i slipped farther and farther away from a religion i thought was God.... and the pain of leaving of all of that... even just the thought of losing all of it.... sent me into the deepest cry ever... shouting to God... "WHY THE FUCK IS THIS HAPPENING! WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT FROM ME GOD!".... and in the silence as time passed on i found the strength to stand up to get up.. and move forward.... i was in this control for for 34 years! and its only been two years that I've been out....but tonight at 1:14 am... i found my anthem... tonight... i sang with the words.... tears streaming down my face... and i knew..... this is my song.... this is my... "FUCK YOU!" absolutely loved this song!!!!! thank you for sharing!!!
I went to a private Catholic school the first 5 years of my life, the other 5 women that constitute my mom's side for 5 generations, were not as lucky. I don't remember much other than thinking mass was scary shit and our priest always wreaked of whiskey. I've had to go through a lot of really shitty life to be able to forget the tremendous lie our homes were built upon.. I don't believe any of us ever denied that, we just didn't say it. Let it go.. life is too short. You know what I did? I began making jokes about the shit I hated, but could do nothing about. I realized I'm pretty funny and I have a large library of material. Someday I'm going to be an epic comedian ✌️
