I have this whole triple crown on tape and Sunday Silence is one of those peculiar histories of horse races, that triple crown really shooked me, Easy Goer was brilliant but I wanted so bad Sunday to be triple crown !! Yet Easy Goer was a good sire, Sunday Silence is brilliant...

My fav horse of all time is Sunday. But Easy made him so; what a rivalry; seems to me Easy may have had more ability and distance capability; but Sunday had a tad more heart and a great deal more athleticism

Anyone thinks Easy Goer was better than Sunday Silence, check out the Breeder's cup. Goer was a strong horse, great endurance, but Silence was faster, pure and simple.

With all due respect to Ruffchamp1, race times are not always the big factor in a race. A slow pace in the early to middle stages of a race usually end with a average finish time. More importantly, if SS had been in some of those races the results could have been very different. Neither horse had any real competition except each other.

whew...Sunday Silence was throwing his weight around at the start bumping into other horses.

Trainer Shug Mcgaughey put it best, "A day like today, and a muddy track like today probably cost us one Kentucky Derby( with champion Easy Goer, with his "problematic, grapefruit size ankles spinning his wheels on that specific type of mud at Churchill", as Steve Haskin said) & maybe it will turn around & help us today." Congratulations Shug McGaughey & the connections of Orb.

it seems SS bumbed several horses, but the question is, would it have changed the winning outcome.. i guess the judges didn't think so.

easy goer ran the 2nd fastest mile in history behind DR.FAGER in 1:32 2/5 and the 2nd fastest mile and a half behind SECRETARIAT in 2:26...absolutely brilliant!!
