Rory speaking his mind on CLB while other podcasts play it “safe” is one of the reasons this podcast is superior
It’s refreshing honestly
That’s why I have always fw Rory. Rory is always honest despite who he’s connected to
Mal was right though 😂😂😂😂 Only 3-4 tracks dont hit and Rory capped, He can’t go through and name each song that sounds like a old drake one. Lmao
Finally he stop playing safe
WE KNEW MAL WASNT GONE POP HIS SHXTT
Keep the crew in background participation, I personally liked it!! 100%
Me too added that spice 🔥
Been digging the laughs n ques they been asking.
Agreed, they got Mal to open up
Worrrd
I think that’s all the help the need.
Rory is in a completely different space. It’s actually pretty beautiful to see his maturation from the self conscious young dude to the self assured, confident, and evolved person.
Took some good traits from Joe Budden
Yeah he was always the most concise, knowledgeable and super smart one but now he has a comfortable space to do him. I love to see it
I've only ever known this version and he is a beautiful work in progress.
Yeah rors is growing right before our eyes lol
Agreed! He had to go through some shit in order to reach that though!
When the girl asked Mal “Mal what makes a good song to you?!” That cracked me up, because she was fed up. lol
Mal: Damn I can’t hear the song in my head. Her: yeah cause it was forgettable. Lol
I like her and the DJ dude being like the Parks of this podcast
I never understand why people get emotional about someone else’s music vibe. I guess I understand if music you hate is played everywhere but getting bothered because an individual likes something you don’t?

Will not lie, I stopped by joes pod first for his review and after the first 20 minutes of him saying absolutely nothing I came here. So much better
This was a really good episode. The exchange between Rory and Mal shows their chemistry and how their opinions can differ, but they can be respectful to each other. I've never heard Mal articulate his opinions so well. I also appreciate how Rory can quote verses from songs he heard a few days ago.

My thoughts!!!! Every single thought it's like he articulated it perfect for me to the world ...that album is basura def coming around again...his contract prob renewed or something butttttt u cant oversell me bs I know the price
CLB is mid because its the same ol Drake. His thoughts about women are the same at 34 as they were at 24. There is no growth, nothing crazy, nothing amazing. Its just the same ol, "I have sex with a lot of women, I'm the best rapper, I eat fine foods, sprinkle in some thoughts about family, etc". There is nothing amazing about it. There is not even a new angle on those topics. Its high quality "safe" hip hop. The skill and wit is undeniable. He will do his numbers and people will move on quickly.
THIS!!! Perfectly described
That’s still his life his content will change when his personal life changes..🤷🏽♀️
Well put. Thank you. Drake music just doesn't excite me anymore.
I got tired of him sounding like a zombie
Exactly it's very few if any songs on here that will enter the list of great Drake songs known to the general public

What Mal and Rory are looking for in their music is reflective of their personalities.
Yep

“That’s crazy” “I don’t care” -Mal
Mal might only feel that way about rap. Rap, I don't care if an artist goes deep or gets introspective, but I need it in my R&B, pop, and some of the rock I listen to. I just need nice bars, flows and beats in my Hip Hop.
Rory is so funny, “people wonder why I get so drunk when we go out, I want to sing the lyrics but it’s so many n-words I can’t sing along” 😭😭😭😭

@@steveornelas2956 it really was disappointing because Joe built his platform around being anti-industry and now he’s the epitome of it. Rory hit the nail on the head with his CLB take
Rory is giving a great breakdown. He has been echoing a lot of everyone’s doubts with CLB (uninspired, outdated, etc.) however, it shouldn’t be your expectation for a man to talk about his child. Sounds entitled and sort of weird.
It’s not that he’s feeling entitled it’s just at Drake career to this point it should be no reason why he has no depth in his music.
It’s an example of a change in the artists life that isn’t reflected in his music. The personal deep shit is what we all loved Drake for but now he’s steering away from that imo.
@@Reesa89 what if the personal deep shit is stuff that the regular person can’t relate too anymore lol
It was just wack no matter what he talked about. Rory plays the role of entitled fan “wanting certain things” like it’s all about him lol
The kid thing is just an example. We’re not saying “you have to talk about it”. We’re saying “literally talk about anything else other than relationships and flexing”. It’s actually astounding how an artist of Drakes calibre is content with saying the same thing for over a decade.

It's not. The things Drake says are things you'd say to a therapist. What do you want him to tell you? How many hairs grow out his left armpit? He gets personal enough. He is the most emotionally vulnerable rapper of all time arguably. He has become a meme because of how emotionally open he is.
Nobody ever judges Kendrick for talking about "woke" things all the time, so why is Drake judged for staying in his own lane when Kendrick always stays in his, same for Cole. Drake doesn't need to do what they do and they don't need to do what he does.

@@lewis.9770 I PERSONALLY waited until I listened to it a couple of times and also in different locations with different people and by myself...and came to the same conclusion. It's not trash music by any means...it's just regular. 10 Years ago, 40's production was novel and mf's were like WHOA what is this? Fast forward 11 years later, the game has caught up to that sound so Drake & 40's music (sonically) no longer catches our attention like it once did because the sound is used so frequently.
