Debt can be such a trap. I’ve been there myself, and honestly, it came down to prioritizing what I truly needed over what I wanted. I had to give up some comforts, like eating out and impulse shopping, but it was worth it to see my balances go down.
Exactly. For me, the big turning point was realizing how much debt was costing me long-term. I stopped using credit cards for a while and focused on living below my means. It wasn’t easy, but seeing progress kept me going. It’s all about figuring out what you’re willing to sacrifice to break free
It’s true that getting out of debt requires tough choices. I’ve learned that tackling high-interest loans first is a game changer. And honestly, having a solid budget is key. But I’m curious-does anyone here have experience working with a financial advisor to fast-track debt elimination?
I recommend looking into Joseph Nick Cahill. He’s a CFA with years of experience, and he really understands how to guide people through financial struggles, whether it’s paying down debt or building a solid portfolio. He offers free consultations too, which makes it easier to take that first step.

Hmmmmmm I've been watching you for the last couple hours. I just got my annual vacation check of 8k and used it to completely pay off a 8k remaining balance on a loan. That hurt, hurt real bad but just opened up 400$ a month. I was going to buy a new woodturning lathe with it, oh well I'm 46 and it's time to grow up I guess.
Patrick, the reason your parents offered to help pay for college is because it would help your siblings. Asking them to buy you a car and pay your rent because you don’t want to get a real job would be enabling your bad behavior. You’re still young you could easily turn your life around but if you continue to keep the attitude that anything outside of the exact thing you want is out of the question, then nothing is going to change. I made more than $10k when I was working part time at McDonald’s to pay my way through school. Dont be a fool.

@Zee-zj2uh It's so awful and tragic. When I lived in Colorado, I was a CNA. I worked for a company that paid their CNAs to be caregivers to their own family members. It was state funded. There were moms that were caregivers to their special needs children, daughters & sons that took care of aging parents, and spouses that cared for their ill spouses. Not every business idea we think is good turns into a success. For several years I volunteered at a high end multi - use entertainment complex that holds wedding receptions, Broadway touring shows, opera performances, etc. And I never saw a woman dressed in a formal gown, bring her infant child into the ladies restroom suites in need of breastfeeding. Orlando is the city where I volunteered and to that lady who called from Orlando I ask, what were you thinking????
The ferrier sounds like he has always been the problem child, caught in double-bind situations between being spoiled and left behind. That's the dilemma with his whole generation. I hope for him he'll grow up. For his own sake, so he can't be bossed around.
Patrick sounds like someone who’s in active addiction. Repeating themselves, grandiose ideas, entitlement, and with parents making the statement, “ungrateful…” sounds like a habitual pattern. (Since his parents have helped his siblings with college, his folks are probably the kind of people who want to help and give…so they can see ungrateful habits.) Unfortunately this was a waste of air time for Dave and Ken. It could have been better spent on someone who truly needs advice, and not on someone who likes to hear themselves speak..
Making touch with financial advisors like Elizabeth Regina Nelson who can assist you restructure your portfolio, would be a very creative option. Personal financial management will be crucial to navigating the next difficult times
Such a genuine personality!!, Sincerely speaking. I will continue to trade and stick to Elizabeth Regina daily signals and guides as long as it works well for me❤️❤️
Patrick is such a prideful bawl baby, golly. He obviously has some resentment with parents helping other siblings for college and not him so thinks it’s owed to him. But he’s got to move on and grow up. Period. No good lady anyway, is gonna want to marry you how you are right now.
See what your state offers. In home caregivers get around $15/hr - not a lot, but it gets you money. Overnights are ridiculous ($5/hr). Get rid of the car pymt and sell the house if necessary. Or get your expenses to $3500/month. Get help from social service, church, friends etc
Julia from Tulsa: He most likely will not be going back to work since it's already been a year and he shows little progress...sorry. I feel bad for your family.
Sherrie from Orlando: If there "seems to be a demand," people would be buying your dresses. Let it go! Shark tank would advise the same but much more harshly.
I seems y'all missed the statement that he paid his taxes. He just hasn't filed. So all he has to do is file. He may not owe them a dime. That being said. Yes not filling is illegal.
Interesting thought. However, you also have to factor in the late filing penalties. From what I can see, the late filing penalty for not filing your 2008 tax return would be $485 + 25% interest. Bible says give to Caesar what is Caesars, or give the government what is due. This also falls under high interest debt: this is honestly a baby step #2 issue. Yes, he owes $1000s of high interest debt.
Yes which shows that he is lazy at least or hiding something at best. Either way, not the kinda guy I’d have my future daughter or sisters involved with. He’s too old to be making such rookie mistakes, especially for 20 years straight
Patrick needs to get to the point. You can tell he’s not very smart by how he listens and answers questions. He should go be a factory worker or something. His ceiling is low and that’s okay. I don’t think he will ever see his entitlement and will resent his parents simply because he’s been spoiled.
Patrick, work for a year doing other stuff, pay it off and be done. Ridiculous lol. In the grand scheme of things, $10,000 is not a lot of money. It only is to you because you are broke. Love that you have a passion for work, but you need more income. You can be a farrier next year, you are young!!!
Dave wouldn't let the lady asking about having kids actually talk. What if her husband's concern was she wants to be a stay at home mom and they are house poor based on his income alone
He is always for having babies. Babies are awesome. Hopefully if you are right, they can get out of it - which that is possible to get out of. If the guy doesn’t want kids and she does, hopefully she knew this cause that would be bad
@BriEly3 he's definitely pro babies. It just would have been nice if he allowed her to talk about the specific concerns. She was trying but he was too busy yelling his opinion to allow it
For the lady who makes formal dresses for breastfeeding women, I would love to be able to get a formal dress while breastfeeding. Our problem specifically was money. Even if i liked the dress, having a newborn unprepared can make you so so broke 😂
My husband and I (and our baby) have been to multiple weddings this year and I’ve had a terrible time finding fancy dresses to wear that are also breastfeeding friendly, so personally a formal dress to breastfeed in sounds amazing. 😅 I can see how the need for them is rare, though!
The problem with this woman's company is that she is selling only to women. You've eliminated half the population then you're selling only to pregnant women. You're significantly cutting down the amount of women you're selling to and then you're selling it to women who breastfeed and is going to a formal event. you're not going to get very many customers at all. At best, you'll get maybe a few in a year
Hubby and I have 2 kiddos, and I did have to take them to events but it was too rare to make a case for buying a brand new dress rather than just wearing a dress with a v-neck or scoop neckline.
I don't get this "I just stayed home and took care of the kids." We had kids and both worked, and the kids turned out just fine. They loved their childhood, and are successful today.
That's probably b/c they are living on social security and most people living only on social security do not have to file federal taxes. However, they may have to file state taxes, depending on the state.
If the IRS owes you money, then there aren't any penalties owed. It's when you owe for a year that interest and penalties pile up to the sky. That first caller might be alright.
@Trustbutverify2651 I agree, but Rachel was commenting on how expensive diapers and formula are. She wasn't really talking about the "extras." This can get into a chicken and the egg discussion, I know.
First women caller: my husband wants to retire but I need to work 10 more years. I guess all men today are home changing diapers cooking meals, cleaning clothes, sewing OMG. I supported my family 100% including health benefits. In addition to our home, we have two vacation homes, and I retired one year ago at age 67. Every nickel came from ME working my butt off
@@Intentionaltia Which is the reason ALL women should have at least one foot in the workplace in a GOOD-PAYING job (even if part-time). Unfortunately this was a waste of air time for Dave and Ken. It could have been better spent on someone who truly needs advice, and not on someone who likes to hear themselves speak..
At least he was good for a laugh...
Run from the man who hasn’t filed taxes.. and don’t look back
Oh Patrick 🙈🤣
Liz, red flag. 😮 run.
Favorite duo..
I'm glad you made this video it reminds me of my transformation from a nobody to good home, $34k monthly and a good daughter full of love
My advice to everyone is that saving is great but investment is the key to be successful imagine investing $15,000 and received $472,700.
People are ignorant of profitablity in bitcoin investment and that has been the major issues limiting their expectations.
Making touch with financial advisors like Elizabeth Regina Nelson who can assist you restructure your portfolio, would be a very creative option. Personal financial management will be crucial to navigating the next difficult times
Waking up every 14th of each month to 210,000 dollars it's a blessing to I and my family... Big gratitude to Elizabeth Regina Nelson
Such a genuine personality!!, Sincerely speaking. I will continue to trade and stick to Elizabeth Regina daily signals and guides as long as it works well for me❤️❤️
The Farrier sounds high.. just an observation
He's in Colorado, where recreational Marijuana is legal. Rocky Mountain High 🎶🎵🎶
High or drunk. He was slurring his words
@@maralghiglia5854 Probably has a record of felonies in the books and not legally employable. What a sad young man, a parasite to his parents.
Oh Patrick 😅
Him saying I’ll go be a stripper threw me 😂😂😂😂
Patrick sounds lazy and useless
Weak Colorado men
(BS7) I see that blue "Better Than I Deserve" Yeti cup on the Ramsey Store. About time.
Dave woke up and chose violence !!😂😮
Patrick is such a prideful bawl baby, golly. He obviously has some resentment with parents helping other siblings for college and not him so thinks it’s owed to him. But he’s got to move on and grow up. Period. No good lady anyway, is gonna want to marry you how you are right now.
See what your state offers. In home caregivers get around $15/hr - not a lot, but it gets you money. Overnights are ridiculous ($5/hr). Get rid of the car pymt and sell the house if necessary. Or get your expenses to $3500/month. Get help from social service, church, friends etc
I'm favoured, $22K every week! I can now give back to the locals in my community and also support God's work and the church. God bless America,,
As a beginner what do I need to do? How can I invest, on which platform? If you know any please share.
Investing in crypto/forex is a good idea,

Same, I met Mrs Maria Daviz last
year for the first time at a conference in
Manchester, after then my family
changed for good. God bless Mrs Maria
YES!!! That's exactly her name (Mrs Maria d) so many people have
recommended highly about her and am
just starting with her 😊 from United States
Julia from Tulsa: He most likely will not be going back to work since it's already been a year and he shows little progress...sorry. I feel bad for your family.
Patrick's dad and brothers failed him. Dude acts like a little boy.
Green Bay is too small for this Draft. I live 40 mins from Green Bay but I will not rent out my house.
Patrick is entitled.
No he said he may not even owe taxes
@@Davefitz04 He may not owe any because the taxes have been taken out of his paychecks the whole time.
@@crazymouseladyhe probably missed a large amount of money in refunds which he isn't qualified to get now.
He probably would do well to smoke a little less of that Colorado weed, too.
Liz, I would leave him.
Liz: Run baby run!!
She was trying but he was too busy yelling his opinion to allow it
He took her call too late in the segment to spend several good minutes on it.
@@jessicabryant7541 He was short on time.
What about daycare expenses …..
For the lady who makes formal dresses for breastfeeding women, I would love to be able to get a formal dress while breastfeeding. Our problem specifically was money. Even if i liked the dress, having a newborn unprepared can make you so so broke 😂
How are you unprepared for a newborn? Don't you usually have 8-9 months' warning?
But wait! Who takes a breastfeeding infant to a formal event!?
HEHEHEHEH THAT GUY ON HIS PARENTS FORGIVING THE LOAN
Patrick is whats know to be a Deadbeat. A straight up deadbeat and always comes up with excuses. 😂
Will everydollar ever come to canada
This is not how the old David Ramsey talked to people
I don't get this "I just stayed home and took care of the kids." We had kids and both worked, and the kids turned out just fine. They loved their childhood, and are successful today.
Many elderly folks at my church have not filed taxes for the past 5-10 years.
That's probably b/c they are living on social security and most people living only on social security do not have to file federal taxes. However, they may have to file state taxes, depending on the state.
YOU CAN LEAD A HORSE TO WATER BUT CANT MAKE IT DRINK AMIRITE XD
I like the show better when Dave’s not on, and I like Dave Ramsey
If the IRS owes you money, then there aren't any penalties owed. It's when you owe for a year that interest and penalties pile up to the sky.
That first caller might be alright.
Maybe, but Dave's point is b/c he hasn't filed, he doesn't know.
@Trustbutverify2651 Dave left no room for "this might be alright".
41:05 well, Dave, your own daughter disagrees with you. On this week's Smart Money Happy Hour, she specifically said having babies is expensive.
Dave's point is that babies do not need all the "stuff" we think they do.
@Trustbutverify2651 I agree, but Rachel was commenting on how expensive diapers and formula are. She wasn't really talking about the "extras." This can get into a chicken and the egg discussion, I know.
@@bettedavis9261 I don't know about formula, but I've bought diapers for several newborns in our church and they are outrageously expensive now!
So they have different opinions.. what now?
2:29 IRS 😎
27:35 someone else [facepalm]
I looked up formal dresses for breastfeeding and actually found a ton. I’m curious if she has such a novel idea… or didn’t do enough research 😅
I'm willing to work till I die.
But you may not be able to - prepare accordingly.
Geez! That kid was a spoiled brat. So disrespectful
Every nickel came from ME working my butt off
Ok but listen to the other caller, she was reliant on her husband who was the bread winner who then had a heart attack now she is struggling come on!
@@IntentionaltiaLife insurance is a thing
@@Four3zero What her husband needed was disability insurance. Every family with only one breadwinner should have it.
@@Intentionaltia Which is the reason ALL women should have at least one foot in the workplace in a GOOD-PAYING job (even if part-time). Death is easy and inexpensive to prepare for with life insurance. Disability insurance should be a budget item for all families with one main breadwinner, but cases like this show that once the kids are in school, having only one breadwinner in the family can become very risky financially. Fortunes can disappear in a hot second if someone with a high salary and a family accustomed to living accordingly suddenly has a stroke and needs 24-7 care.

Dave gets a little obnoxious he can atleast hear people out
Nah, he's Papa Dave
There's not a chance that I would deny my mom and stepdad a nice place to stay... Because I wanted to put money over them... Are you kidding?
Sorry but Eddie is not a millionaire. I am baffled that Dave goes to Great length to bless us with the definition of "net worth" but ignores deferred tax liabilities. Asset - taxes is < $1M. He is not free of the obligation just because taxes haven't been paid. Any certified balance sheet would not place $1M in equity. Signed ANY CPA.
I agree. This is essentially a blow out sports game going into the last 3 minutes but not wanting to call it.
If claiming millionaire status motivates him, I will give him the grace on that. If it makes him sloppy, the game is his to lose.
Hard to believe what Dave said about billionaires and integrity. You don’t become a billionaire without breaking some rules and laws.
It's possible but rare.
Which laws specifically would a billionare break? NOT LOOPHOLES used by everyone, but breaking the law..which ones?
Yall are wild. There is no law that requires most Americans to file a 1040 form. Don’t take my word for it, write your representatives in congress. Ask them to show you the law. I love listening to this show, but there is absolutely no law that requires you to pay unless you live in D.C. or work for the federal government.
Good luck with that, what's your name and address?
talk about timewhare exit team and how you are going to reimburse people who fell for the scam that you endorsed. Most paid about $3200 each. Pay it back, Dave!!!
Anyone else notice the cruise has been 96% sold out now....for months?!🤣🤣🤣
This guy just blabs on and on. Get. To. The. Point.
Dave,😂 Number one self-reported great quality of billionaires is as self-reported integrity. Is Ramsey joking or is his audience actually that stupid?
They act like Liz’s husband is a meth kingpin and has been doing it behind her back for 20 years.
Is that you
Cmon, Dave, the story about your jag and grandpa saying his investments go up was fresh because you just made the up the story. 😮
That’s ok though, people shouldn’t spend significant money on depreciating assets. Thats the real story.
This isn't the first time Dave has told this story. I've heard it at least four times over the past several years.
IF you break the law you go to jail??? Trump???
Never sentenced
Integrity???? Trump???
What we need mostly is COMPETENCE. Do you check the morality of all the individuals in your life - doctor? dentist? professor? electrician? I'll be not - you just save it for the politicians.
As a farrier will make 10,000 in less six months
He needs to go work at a race track!!!!!!
Ramsey stop eating your wasting the world's resources 😅
He's not the only one. Most Americans eat enough for 4 people.
Dave..STOP WITH THE "BABIES NOW" ADVICE.....DAYCARE DOES NOT ONLY ALWAYS EXIST..THERE ARE WAITING LISTS.. And if it is available it is outrageously expensive... We tell our children to make sure they have at least a $100,000 in savings before they have a child. They live 5 states away from us ,so we cannot take care of their babies.
We work full-time still.

You have to make sure that you’re getting disability insurance and death insurance on that loan. I’m actually refinancing mine because of that it wasn’t in there when I asked for it.
