I opted for 7/8" air dielectric helix. My run is a little shorter, but at 600' you only have about 0.50db loss on 40m. 600ohm open ladder line has about 1db loss at that distance and frequency. The helix isn't the cheapest option, for sure, but it really makes a difference in receive quality.

Just noticed the old phone in the background. Love it.

For th remote relay, here's a possible idea. Run AC to power it.
At my work, we combine AC with rf (5-1200mhz) over coax and use splitting filters.

Dad had a true 600 ohm Ladder Line fed 180 meter long line, out of the shack with a big hole in the wall and up 90 foot crank up tower yard arm pulley to the 1/3 acre back yard and a secondary 25 foot monolithic at 90 feet. Happy Father's Day Dad AE7AD from KD7CKT

You mis-spoke in the description on the needed balun
sqrt(600/50) = 3.464 That is the needed turns ratio 7:2 is quite close

Wait, wait, wait. Is that a 'working' desktop DIAL telephone? 🙂

Would a balun with 14 and 4 turn windings be closer to the 12 to 1 ratio? (14*14)/(4*4)=196/16=12.25

It’s a hard installation , ladder line getting near things can give you high SWR’s KJ7TBR
