Why is everybody worried about who's writing? Just appreciate the fact that they are doing this at their age. They stated a long time ago that their grandkids help them with their lyrics. If you listen closely to the lyrics over the years, you can tell that they both have a huge input on what goes into the song. Maybe i'm the only one with the experience to hear that.
@jaswats9645 what most people don't realize is that BAS is a professional musician. He plays a multitude of instruments, including the piano, the saxophone, and the trumpet. He also taught and wrote music. Doing something like this is in his bag.
I think they get help writing from some guys call nine and dex but they do perform the raps themselves but check out this and draw your own conclusions “nine and dex- pecan pie” either way we love Pete and bas for how the sell it there just class haha
By this point it's pretty clear that the writing process is a collaborative effort (Nine & Dex helping with the structure and modern slang, Pete and Bas putting in old references and old slang).. I don't care either way, these fellas still need to perform those bars and the delivery is flawless and they're just so gully with it I love it.
The story widely spread and confirmed is that nine (91 shots) does the beats and nine and dex, their grandkids give them new lingo but do NOT assist them in structure of bars.
like, what are we supposed to do with a couple of old English guys that look like a novelty act, but who spit venomous bars with a ferocity and flow not seen in some time that's honestly better than a good chunk of stuff out there now? I don't even know, but I can't get enough. They put out an album, but a good chunk of it is the tracks already out there on YT, but they got me hooked and that's pretty damn impressive given I saw them and at first dismissed them as a joke.
