Skied many race boots in my day, I bought the k2 mindbender 120 last season and really love the k2 fit and performance. Thinking of moving to the recon 130 next season if I re-boot. How does the k2 120 flex and the 130 flex compare with similar top shelf boots?
My bigger question is how the Recon compares to the Mindbender, as those two boots fit very differently. The Mindbender is tighter for sure. You may be better served with LV boots based on your experience, so I'm not sure the Recon is the right answer here. Most companies make an LV 130 these days, Lange RS 130, Tecnica Mach 1 130 LV, Nordica Pro Machine 130, and Salomon S/Pro Alpha 130 are some of the tops.
I have a pair of 120 mv and when I flex it’s as if the boot just bends and moves. I have never seen a boot do that were my friends words. Any thoughts.
Are you in a cold or warm environment when this occurs? There should be some flex to the boot for sure, but if it looks like it's folding in half, then you may need something stiffer with rear rivets. SE
@@SkiEssentials it was if when I ran out of flex the area in the toe box would bend and move. When it’s warm it’s much worse. The boots are extremely comfortable.
I've found the Hawx to have some more ankle room than the Recon, which is kind of already a roomy fit. some people need this extra volume, so if you're one of those skiers, then I'd say the Hawx is a better fit choice. performance wise, they're just about the same.
What is the big difference between the K2 Recon 120 MV and the K2 Mindbender 120 MV?
Mindbender has tech fittings in the toes and heels, and a walk mode for skinning and uphill skiing. Recon is more resort-oriented.

How do these compare to the Salomon spro 120, I’ve narrowed my boot hunt to these two. I’m an intermediate to advanced skier.
Very, very similar. I've skied a bit on both and find the Salomon to be a bit snugger in the ankle, but performance wise they are about the same.
This or Lange RX 120?
Fit first. Performance is similar. You need to put them on your feet.

How do you compare the atomic hawks to these

What is the difference between lv and mv?
The quick and easy answer is 2. 2 millimeters of width in the forefoot and the resulting extra volume throughout the rest of the boot.
Is this boot recommended for all mtn?
Yup! Great resort ski for intermediate through expert skiers with mid-volume feet!
*boot, not ski lol
simple and cool model
Yup, not a whole lot needed with boots for most skiers!
