    all this time and effort for a weak, watery coffee

      There was like no time and effort involved but I have to agree that the coffee looked very weak.

      I've had better instant coffee

      I agree that this recipe is a bit too diluted for me. There are other aeropress recipes that make much stronger cups.

    Does this give a different type of taste to a standard percolation process as it uses pressure unlike just allowing the water to gently pass through

      The pressure does definitely have an impact on the end result. It’s more that the aeropress has the steeping phase that’s as long or short as you like - it’s definitely a hybrid of Percolation and Submersion and you can manipulate the brew one way or the other

    who measures water in grams????

    • @thomasstorbugt6829
      @thomasstorbugt6829 Месяц назад +4

      Its (theoretically at 20 degrees) 1:1. So 1 liter is 1 kg. So its the same

    • @Cameron4263
      @Cameron4263 Месяц назад +1

      @@thomasstorbugt6829 Yeah I know it's technically the same, but it was just jarring to hear it said like that lol.
      I am curious though whether it makes any difference being a measure of mass vs volume given that volume fluctuates with the temperature

      @AlternativeBrewing  Месяц назад +2

      😅 your right 👆 I think I just slipped up there.
      Most coffee professionals I know measure from the scales - effectively taking grams and referring to it as millimeters - I just forgot to do the switch 🤦‍♂️

      @@AlternativeBrewing All good hahaha, although measuring water by the metre is something I've not heard of either 😁😁

    So it's a French press

    • @AlternativeBrewing

      But cleaner as it separates the brew from the grounds in the brewing process
