Had mine installed yesterday. Wife told me "no way is that wee fella going to heat the room" she's never been so wrong. We live in a house where the heating makes upstairs toasty but downstairs freezing, from now on in Winter, downstairs will be a toasty place to be. Would highly recommend this wood burner.
I really like this woodburner. My company has fitted at least 30 of these. For the price, I've found nothing even close on the market. Superb control and thus efficiency as demonstrated. I'm often asked if a woodburner of twice the price is twice as good, it's a clear no. That wouldn't be possible. The handle mechanism is a bit lightweight, compared to some (and I mean some!) £1000+ Woodburners but I have never had any complains or failures. It's possible to find (far more expensive - the excellent Charnwood Aire 5 for example) woodburners with a slightly higher casting quality, if you look really closely in the video 7.25 there are a few small imperfections in the castings, but none of my customers has ever looked at one of these and found the casting wanting. If you want a really great woodburner that doesn't break the bank, I don't believe there is better than this. I have only ever had delighted customers with this one. I'd install one for my Mum. I bought a Hampton 6.4 Double sided from Stove World. The Stove is fantastic. It’s really well built and looks great. It’s really easy to control too. But most of all I love how big the fire box is. I can fit huge logs in there and get some serious heat out of it. We did have a small issue on delivery with some damage caused by the delivery company, but that was resolved by Stove World and we are very happy with our new stove. The installer said it was easy to fit and I would highly recommend this stove to anyone looking for a double sided.
I have had a Barbas ECO 70 installed for around 10 years and I have 3 glass sides that take 30 minutes to clean after EVERY use as it has no air flow system to protect the glass. My son installed the Hampton in his house a year ago and I am totally blown away by how they never get any problems with tarrring on their glass! I am seriously thinking about chucking out the Barbas and getting you to retrofit one of these instead!
Have you ever needed to sweep the chimney? Any issues getting the bolts off the baffle plate? Love the stove but worried that will be an issue in the future
Yes, I have swept it but the chimney was remarkably clean because the stove burns the soot. The bolts came off the baffle plate no problem, if I remember correctly, a 10mm open end spanner with a short handle. I have put some copper grease on the bolts so that there is no chance of them seizing up. I understand that copper grease can cause pitting and some prefer to use lithium. I don't know which is the better. Take the bricks out before removing, put them back in before bolting the baffle back on (hold the baffle up and put the rear bricks in place so that you have something to rest the back of the baffle on). Eco will smell for a while when it is new, but after a while the smell disappears. Something to do with the paint I think. I also advise you to buy some threadlock and use it when you put on the wooden handle if you have one.@@tbo2120
If the baffle is tertiary I take it this has a rope seal,I really like the look of this stove but the bolted baffle to me is a issue as it will only last 3 to 4 years before you can no longer remove the bolts, I would recommend cutting access in the flue pipe when possible
Hi, we have done a lot of testing on this unit and the style of baffle used is crucial for it to pass and exceed the 2022 regulations. Yes, in an ideal world we would use a very simple folded baffle but the stove would not reach the efficiency level that it does and would most likely not pass the regulations required from 2022. To drastically reduce the chance of the bolts stiffening up we use ample copper grease on all bolts to ensure they remain easy to release. I do agree, an access hatch in the flue is always a great idea with all modern stoves but is not something we insist on with this unit. Thank you for the comments and if you have any questions, we would be happy to help. Kind regards.
@@Karlcoupe I will be buying the version of this which converts between a bio stove and a woodburner, but I'd like to know if there has been any seizing of the bolts on the baffle as the previous commenter mentioned might be a problem on this stove. I would rather not have my stove unusable in 3 to 4 years!
@@jennycolley7265 Hello. We have sold thousands of this unit and have had no issue to do date. Most stoves on the market will have some parts bolted in place. We ensure copper grease is added to make their removal easier. Adding extra copper grease every few years will continue to help with their removal. Anything else, let us know. Kind regards.
Hi, the stove should be ran with the door closed. You should not run any stove with the door left open as this will increase risk of spillage and drastically lower the effiency of the fire. Kind regards
In short a stove that does not fully close off will produce less smoke. In certain zones the government wants to reduce the amount of smoke produced by fires and will inflict a "smoke free zone" where only Defra approved stoves can be installed. If you are not in a smoke free zone you may still need a Defra unit if you plan on installing a 5" liner. @@macobermaier5147 A wood stove will not need cleaning often as they burn better with ash built up on the base. Depending on use, this could be anywhere between a few weeks or even months if you are only using it occasionally. Kind regards.

I need an 18m flue liner (tenement flat) do you supply these too?
I have this stove purchased from yourself, do you sell the metal/rubber flash that goes on the external of the roof to seal the flu to the roof

Should the rear vent be closed in that scenario for direct air access from the front?

Superb video only ruined by some hideous background music. Seems to superfluous.
