  • This Wall Mounted Folding Workbench is a Game Changer for Small Workshops! Static workbenches suck up a lot of valuable space in your workshop. Having a workbench that you can fold up and store flat against your wall frees up so much space. In my case, l can now park my car in the garage which l haven’t been able to do for a number of years! You’re going to love this one.
    I hope you enjoy it 👍😁

    Very nicely done! The excellent thing about this wall mounted bench/table is that when you release it from it's stored position, it can be wheeled to any location. If my memory serves me well, the others I have seen simply fold down off of the wall and stay remain attached to the wall on one side. Good thinking!

    • @diyforknuckleheads

    That is one stable work bench, for sure. And the folding and storing is quite useful. Great project!
    One little pro tip from a professional here: If you want to avoid splintering when you drill through wood, tightly clamp a scrap piece against your work piece and drill into it. This will hold your precious surface fibres in place and they'll go nowhere undesired. You can even pre drill a sacrificial piece and use it as a guide and tear-out-avoider for the top surface. That's complicated, but you can have clean entry and exit holes in your wood.

    Shane, with this vid you've solved a vexing problem for me. That is how to make a table for folding laundry that itself can be folded up onto the wall out of the way while not in use. I don't need the table to stand on four legs and be mobile, but your folding leg design with a central strut to lock them in place can be modified for the front legs on a table hinged to the wall. Thanks, mate!
    By the way, I see that you used what could be a metal wall stud or maybe an aluminum rectangular box extrusion as your saw guide for making that long cut. That's another idea I like. Thanks, Shane.

    • @diyforknuckleheads
      @diyforknuckleheads  Год назад

      Rick....this style of bench would be perfect for your laundry with just a few simple modifications 👍 The rectangle piece of metal is just a length of rectangle, box aluminium that l generally use as a straight edge which is also perfect for using with a circular saw to cut a straight line. Cheers mate 👍🇦🇺😁

    Like the form and function of your new bench! Going to have to give this a try even though I don't really need the space just like the bench.
    Wish we could get that colored sheet goods here in the states! I've seen it used on several projects in England & Australia.
    Another great Knackers projects in the books!

      Home centers don't carry any of the good stuff like formply or Baltic birch or hardwood plywood. Have you tried a plywood supplier? Even if you don't have one nearby, there are online suppliers that deliver, though that can get pretty expensive.

    Put some dog holes and track channels in that sucker. Add a removable notch plate big enough for a circular saw base to screw down to. Make a couple more plates the same size to undermount a jigsaw, router, etc. Or make more notch plate holes and gain the ability to have all three at once. Now you have a table saw, a table jigsaw, a router table, and a surface that you can assemble, clamp, vice, and square cabinets on. And it all removes quickly, folds back up, and fits on the wall. Hang the circular saw, jigsaw, and router on the wall by their notch plates too if you really want to go nuts.

      I love it Kenny and use it on a lot of my projects. They apply a black waterproof film to the face of a sheet of plywood. Concretors use it for forming up their concrete as the concrete doesn't stick to it and it leaves a beautiful smooth finish. A lot of us woodworkers over here in Australia use it now and it is in plentiful supply. Thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺

    Okay, British accent--now I understand why in the etsy listing you say single car garages are the norm lol. Not the case here in the U.S. (at least around my area apart from oddball neighborhoods). My mom's side is almost all in England and year single car garages seem to be the norm there still

    • @diyforknuckleheads
      @diyforknuckleheads  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks Aldo and l appreciate you purchasing the Plans mate. The Black strip serves two purposes. Number 1: It looks good and Number 2: It makes the Ledger a little wider which makes folding the table to the wall a little safer 👍 Thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺

    I've a double car garage so don't really need this. However, I am still going to do it since it will open up more area, and keep me from using it as generic place to drop things, which eventually needs to be cleared for actual use....
    Also, as one of those barbaric Imperial users I appreciate the no drama inclusion of Imperial measurements. I never have a problem remembering 1" = 25.4mm, but so many commenters get worked up when Imperial is given without the metric.... Nice job.
