Any Bulova 256k Quartz, like the Accutron II, and the Precisionist! Super smooth second sweep hand, my Precisionist is the most accurate watch I own. One other type of quartz is any of those that use Atomic radio-controlled time setting. Extremely accurate, and very convenient.
I used to sell high end mechanical watches and without fail once a week or so we would get an angry customer telling us how much they spent (usually a gift from the wife) and the watch died or never worked……because they had no idea they had to wind it or wear it if it were an automatic
I want my watch at any price point to be accurate. My budget limits me to a Rado and. Mido but regardless it has to be accurate, no matter how beautiful it is as an accessory.
So glad that someone pic this topic! I also prefer mechanical watches. But there are really some awesome quarz watches, especially vintage one (Omega, Bulova,, Seiko, ...) out there which are IMO absolutely underrated and deserve more attention! On the other hand good for me/us - keeps prices reasonable 😜
vintage omega quartz is excellent made I had few but once it breaks good luck fixing it.. recently I reviewed vintage seiko first analog quartz chrono 15 jewels movement and very reasonable price
Yea I really don't get why people are so hung up on mechanical movements, I fell out of love with them a long time ago! The reason for selling all mine is simple, they're not as accurate, they're not as durable and they're more expensive up front and on service costs! Mechanical or automatic watches are cool because of all the small moving parts and how they work together but why bother having a mechanical watch that I have to set with a quartz? And for the people who say mechanical watches "have a soul" obviously has their ego tied up in their watches! It operates off mechanical energy, a spring absorbs energy and then releases it operating the movement! So no soul there!
@@steelheart4148 true they are more accurate. I'm not sure about more reliable. And I agree rolex is very expensive but if they were the same price I know which one I'm taking every time.
@@tommysimsek2125 No. Quartz Grand Seiko is not cheap. My GS cost me over $3000 and runs +0.5 second every 6 months. Fit and finish puts any Rolex to shame. I won't be alive when my GS will be due for its first 50 year service. 😜
Watch accuracy was made essentially moot by smart phones. Yes, some of us still prefer to check the time by glancing at an analog clock face on our wrists, but for the most part, a person wears a watch as a statement, not to tell time.
So the movement is then moot. Ever try explaining why a hand wind is multiple times the price of a quartz and if you don’t wind it daily it dies to a woman?
@@jeffreygoss8109 Yes, the movement is moot from the standpoint of accurate time telling. Every mechanical watch fan would be hard pressed not to concede that. By direct choice, I am no longer in a place where my purchases get questioned by a woman. But how do you I'm not a woman?
@@rangersmith4652 good point I don’t know your sex, but after leaving a mechanical watch at womens houses they usually remark, “things dead” and are disgusted when I tell them you have to wind it.
I’m looking for something like the Breitling, but at lower price. 2 hands and small digital display wrapped in a solid case. My dream watch would be the green Alpinist with a bronze bezel with digital display like the Breitling. Stopwatch and timer is a big part of time keeping imo.
You left off the Casio Oceanus line and the Bulova Precisionist line. Citizen now owns Bulova and got the technology for the Chronomaster from their purchase of Bulova.
Great video 📹 But now thinking a different way because of my Seiko 9f movement 😀 Really like quartz now. Still trying to sell the 2019 🕉 Omega Seamaster 300M now
If you are really looking for the most accurate watch you should have also mentioned radio controlled (solar) watches like Junghans (Casio or Citizen are the other brands)! The only downside to radio controlled watches is if you're living somewhere where you don't have an atomic signal those watches only work as ordinary Quartz watches. With the radio controlled signal however those watches cannot be beaten in accuracy! 😍(And yes, I indeed care for accuracy of a watch! That's why I bought a Junghans radio controlled watch!) 😜
Awsome vid yet agin. Personally I love my g shocks and I do rate accuracy highly so I bought a g shock with multi band 6. Radio controlled that updates every night. Cant get more accurate than that. Plus its solar powered so all bases covered. As always looking forward to your next vid
Adding connectivity with extreme battery life (rechargable/Solaris etc) avoids compromising factory seals... And matches anything higher precision on any budget except atomic!
I admit to being a bit obsessed with accuracy. I like checking my watch to WWV and finding it accurate to the second. I've been wearing a solar G Shock for over ten years, and actually prefer it to the Rolex I inherited for every day use.
Outstanding Video as always! I love and Enjoy Your Videos! I am a watch addict!!I Love Accutrons, Bulovas, Casio, Citizen, Longines, Omega, Rolex, Seikos, Brequet, there are a lot of wonderful Quartz Timepieces Available!!
I'm the Seiko guy, you can not buy in other high brands what you cannot buy in Seiko. I don't think anyone is going to rob me for my classic Seiko watch. I've had the Rolex etc and prefer Seiko anyday.
Minute 2:48, wait a moment!!!! So the Grand Seikos have capacitators (rechargeable batteries) and must be replaced 15-25 years just as solar and kinetic models? My only quartz pieces are Citizen Eco-drive and Seiko Solar but if also the Grand Seikos must have their capacitators replaced my holy grail is broken. I thought it was an accurate mixture mechanical-quartz but without batteries.
I have only one quartz watch. An Citizen Eco drive. Quartz Solar. It's perfectly accurate and beautifully made on a expanding stainless steel bracelet. I set my mechanicals to this. My most accurate mechanical is a Seagull m186s automatic. Minus 4 seconds per day.
This affectation toward Japanese Domestic Market is laughable. Citizen Chronomaster would not sell in the US or Europe because you can get Longines VHP for one third of the price. Japanese will buy Japanese regardless of whether same quality product can be had much cheaper. That's the reason why so many companies limit their products to JDM -- because they could not compete outside at those prices.
The moon watch is not as good as the Seiko moon watch the pogue. Even Colonel Pogue prefered the Seiko over the omega. The Omega moon watch is overrated and priced as are all watches.
What is Your favorite quartz piece? What did I miss? Who else appreciates a good quartz piece?
EDC Gunner Rolex Datejust Oysterquartz 👌

Grand Seiko Spring Drive
Casio Oceanus - affordable great watch

"No one really buys a watch because it's accurate" - that's probably the most absurd statement I have heard this year.
British military use Quartz, brilliant feat of engineering, my favourite
No one buys a watch for it's accuracy? I think you may need to revisit that thinking.
For a lot of watch “enthusiasts” it’s so much more about jewelry then anything, but they find ways to tell them self and others, otherwise.
I want my watch at any price point to be accurate. My budget limits me to a Rado and. Mido but regardless it has to be accurate, no matter how beautiful it is as an accessory.
Most high end mechanical watch snobs would say it's not about accuracy.
what are the best quartz luminous watch??
Do these expensive quartz watches continue working on a person whose electrical field kills most quarts movements?

Mondaine stop2go quartz..very interesting movement and is my next watch purchase
Nobody buys a watch because they're accurate? 98% of all watches sold are quartz. Why? Because they're accurate.
No,,,,,, because they are cheap!

Citizen Chronomaster. I would pick one these instead of a Grand Seiko to be honest.

Best quartz watch in the world is the Bulova Precisionist. Ugly as shit but the most accurate by far.
Not really. The Chronomaster 5 seconds/yr) and Grand Seiko 9F (10 seconds/yr) are more accurate. Most Precisionists are accurate to 30 seconds/year.
