That Vietnam vet story was beautiful. It is especially meaningful is this current climate of racial division and conflict. It IS possible for people to get along, respect, and even LOVE each other, regardless of race. This was one of the most heartwarming and necessary segments of Unsolved Mysteries.
James and Mitchell's story is probably one of my top 5 favorite stories in the series. The Vietnam War was happening in a time where racial tension was and still is the norm. Two men who were outed for their race became close friends, and defied military protocol to make sure that they would make it out of the war alive. The reunion was just a very powerful moment indeed. If it wasn't for James, Mitchell would have most likely died in the field of battle. This is a friendship that will truly last beyond a lifetime.

Wow. Only 15 years this guy got from murdering his wife. Insane! He should have spent the rest of his life in prison. Where's the justice in this case? Her family has suffered all these years, especially her children. Hope they are okay.
Alice's elders should feel partly responsible for her death. I hope they all, especially her strict father, wishes every night they could go back and allow their daughter the freedom that she was denied.
@@JonathanLedbetter yeah exactly. she probably would have did her nursing a lot sooner and married someone she actually wanted to date ....her dads decisions played a huge part in this.
In the depiction of Tony's body on the bed and the gun on the floor, that doesn't add up either, yet no one mentions that. Both hands are laying on him, yet the guns 4 feet from his head and nowhere near either hand, nor is either hand said to be tested for gunpowder residue. I also didn't hear the police excuse for all the injuries Tony sustained as well.
There is no issue with the gun being found 4 feet from the body. Suicides by gunshot to the head yield many unexpected and unpredictable reactions by the body. Some people literally jump up, flop around into odd looking positions, and the onset of rigor mortis can change the positioning of the body, and even again once rigor wears off and tissue breakdown is picking up speed. I've investigated far more deaths than I expected during my law enforcement career. Suicides are sad and extremely traumatic for those left behind to think about their missing loved ones. My oldest son committed suicide a year and a week ago, in very similar circumstances as the young man in this video. It is truly more traumatizing than any other experience in my lifetime. I'm left with many questions that will never be answered, which brings me back to this case. Let there be no doubt about it, I know what the young man's parents feel as a result of their son's premature demise. It's so deeply painful and very very sad that no other broken bone or physical injury can come near the same level of pain. You don't want to believe your bright, good looking and very much loved son, loved by all who knew him, is gone forever and by his own hand. His parents are much too traumatized to form a clear picture and understanding of the totality of the circumstances contrubuting to making a decision that has permanent and irrevocable consequences. After the passage of time things like his DUII arrest, loss of driver's license, car impounded, seeing women even knowing he was inserting himself into ongoing relationships and most likely getting beat up for it would be really big things to the mind of a young man his age, and his parents will be able to learn much more about his activities the last few days before his death.

It never matters how many times I've watched that segment (which is AT LEAST 60-70 times minimum), I break down every single time and sob. To the point where sometimes I skip over it, if I'm having a bit of a trying day, or if I have somewhere to go and don't want my makeup all messed up, because it always ends with me looking like a drunk mime. Such and increadibly touching segment, and in my opinion THE MOST touching segment in UM history. James and Mitchell make me proud to be an American. (Especially considering they are both minorities, fighting for a country during a time when blacks and Asians weren't always treated well on the front lines, and in fact were often treated poorly by memebers of the country they were defending, and putting their lives on the lives for.) They are the embodiment of what we should all strive to emulate. I'm already so beyond grateful to all servicemen, past, present, and future...but I have an extra debt of gratitude towards James and Mitchell, and all the other servicemen of their ilk. They are a wonderful example of the human spirit.
Therapeutic Touch has been debunked utterly to hell and back. It could never be shown to work under controlled conditions. This TV show had some great mysteries, but wow did they ever peddle baloney, too.
Bart Stewart It’s great because it was actually completely debunked by an 8 year old girl for a school project. She would flip a coin to determine if a patient got Therapeutic Touch or no action, behind a barrier where the patient couldn’t see what happened. The results were identical to random chance.
I think its just our own bodies healing itself because the people who have had it believed in it,they believed and had faith in it and that I believe makes our bodies do what it needs to do to heal,I feel we as humans are capable of far more than what most believe.

When I heard them say he was messing around with 3 different women, 1 married; I said that was the reason he got smoked. IT WAS PITFUL HOW THE POLICE HANDLED THE WHOLE CASE THOUGH!👈🏿😑
The death of Tony Lombardi sounds very enigmatic. I wonder at what time a medical examiner has determined he died? Was he cold to touch when first responders arrived? His family seems to believe that he was killed in his bed. If I were the killer, I wouldn't take the risk of bringing him back to his house since he lived with his parent or parents even if I wanted to make it look like his death is suicide. So has any of their neighbors heard a gun shot? Have they seen a suspicious car? He is too young to die. But he seems to have had a risky life style if he was seeing three women at the same time.
Forensically, Tony's cause of death should be easy to determine whether or not it was a suicide. All the investigators had to do was check his hands for gun powder residue. Case solved.
There is just not enough info or evidence given for the viewing audience to successfully determine what exactly happened to Tony. It was mentioned that Tony had three lady friends he was seeing. They didn't specifically state that he was romantically involved with them. Perhaps Tony was gay or bisexual, and was targeted because of that? Many things in this case don't add up.
James and Mitchells story made me cry.....both are such SWEET humans....I wish them a long life full of happiness an be friendship. And if either of them have since passed....don't tell me plz.
Some cops/detectives are just plain incompetent. "We got to just deal with the facts that this was a suicide". Saying this while Not conducting a GPR test on Tony's hands, the fact that Tony had a broken jaw, cuts/abrasions, bruises and the bullet trajectory was off All make it seems that there was foul play involved.
You're assuming that none of this was investigated by the cops. Both the Coroner and DA's office (both of whom also have investigative powers as well) also concluded it was a suicide. So either the Coroner's and DA's offices are also as lazy and incompetent as the Police, or a real investigation took place and concluded it was a suicide.
@@sergeiyzerman7240 Nope, Not assuming at all. There are many cases where cops automatically rule a death a suicide without further investigate (after watching 1000s of true crime shows). Thus some LEO/DAs ARE Lazy.

@Amanda Brookman... except that placebo effect is a real effect. If you had a loving Mom and remember being small, you might recall that the kiss did, in fact, lower pain. If "therapuetic touch" has a placebo effect for some people, thats a real effect. If someone has real confidence in a treatment or medicine that is *at least harmless and isn't replacing other proven treatment* Then it is probably worthwhile for the patient because the scientific evidence is that it can actually help. There is even a Nocebo effect...if you strongly disbelieve in a treatment or medicine, it wont help as much as it should. All very interesting and odd.

What about his mother thinking the assailant was still in the house? Creepy.
That woman who was murdered and her wife went on the run... Her boyfriend wasn't very heroic. I'd not let someone beat my girlfriend to death, I certainly wouldn't run to the police station wtf
Yeah, if it was me I would have defend her against this attacker. He possibly could have saved her.
No, he would also have been killed. But why wouldn't he use a phone - much faster.
I said the same thing. That man didn’t have any fight in him! His heart pumped pink Kool-Aid!
my first thought as well
Tony's mom, "I'll fight em from eternity." 🙏❤
Best music, best host
How disgusting that Alices parents wanted her to get married TO HER COUSIN! So gross!!!
Inbred fucks
+None of Your business:
Not a lot of people know that marrying your cousin was normal in the 19th century and before that. This changed sometime in the 20th century but I don't know why.
@@louistournas120 it only changed in the west but it's still very common in many parts of the world today.
@@louistournas120 It changed because babies where born deformed. Look at Hapsburg Jaw.
it was not that uncommon- in older times. if you believe in Christianity- we are all brothers and sisters just fukin each other.
Beautiful story James and Mitchell
Tremendous 👍💯
20:18 "At the time of his death, Tony was seeing 3 different women, one of whom was already living with a man."
There's your answer.
Especially with a death threat about it on the answering machine!
James Pearson was a helluva man. We need more like him in the world.
Wow James is freaking amazing! And so is Mitchel his strength to stay positive is so inspiring! I’m happy to see them both surrounded by family and love
(Especially considering they are both minorities, fighting for a country during a time when blacks and Asians weren't always treated well on the front lines, and in fact were often treated poorly by memebers of the country they were defending, and putting their lives on the lives for.)
They are the embodiment of what we should all strive to emulate. I'm already so beyond grateful to all servicemen, past, present, and future...but I have an extra debt of gratitude towards James and Mitchell, and all the other servicemen of their ilk.
They are a wonderful example of the human spirit.
I love this show , for years and years I tried to find a set of all the seasons , this is even better I can watch them for free , love ittt
Therapeutic Touch has been debunked utterly to hell and back. It could never be shown to work under controlled conditions. This TV show had some great mysteries, but wow did they ever peddle baloney, too.
Therapeutic touch is about as funny as the practice itself.
Bart Stewart It’s great because it was actually completely debunked by an 8 year old girl for a school project. She would flip a coin to determine if a patient got Therapeutic Touch or no action, behind a barrier where the patient couldn’t see what happened. The results were identical to random chance.
I normally skip over stories of UFO's or hauntings.
I think its just our own bodies healing itself because the people who have had it believed in it,they believed and had faith in it and that I believe makes our bodies do what it needs to do to heal,I feel we as humans are capable of far more than what most believe.
@@antonioacevedo5200 those were my favorite ones when I was a kid. They were fun
Long been one of my all time favorite shows. Scary, interesting, fascinating.
The Mitchell and James story was nice. Bravery and friendship kept that man alive. Glad they got together.
Bravo to the casting coordinators once again. They always pick actors who really do look like the people involved.
Now I crying for James and Mitchel meeting after a life time...
@les antoine :-)
41:00 I am bawling like I’m in an onion factory.
Laura Laura ikr
Me too
I was filled with releif and a joy for them. Such a sweet and honorable man. James is a true hero 😊❤️😍 Mitchell and James deserve a lifelong friendship xxx bless em.
20:20 I like how they talk about Tony dating 3 women at the same time, one likely married, as a positive characteristic lol
Ha ha ha that's a good one. 👍
They brought up his love life and the one likely married because it pertained to the story and maybe a motive for his death
When I heard them say he was messing around with 3 different women, 1 married; I said that was the reason he got smoked.
IT WAS PITFUL HOW THE POLICE HANDLED THE WHOLE CASE THOUGH!👈🏿😑
😊😊That Vietnam story ** OMG ! No words to describe the feeling ! James is a great human being! Glad they got reunited!!! Peace all!
Hum, when suicide's assumed as the cause of death Many tests arent performed not Even an autopsy
Tony got killed by one of his Misresses BF.
"He was seeing 3 women, one of whom was already living with a man..."
There's your killer.
James and Mitchells story made me cry.....both are such SWEET humans....I wish them a long life full of happiness an be friendship. And if either of them have since passed....don't tell me plz.
💯💥👍💙🌈
Pure laziness!
@@jeremyashton5040 yes..,and look up the qualifications of being a coroner in most states; u will be stunned.
they are lazy. easier to call it a suicide than do any detective work.
That boyfriend flew out that back door!!!
He was a Bitch. She screamed for help.
God Bless you Mr. Shigemoto ❤Thank you for your service sir 🙏🏻 And God Bless you Mr. Pearson ❤Thank you for your service 🙏🏻💯
I like these reunion stories on UM, they're great.
The welcome sign and tears James received in Hawaii by Mitchell and his family was so beautiful. I cried like a baby 😢❤❤ Simply amazing
James and Mitchell had me in real tears 😿😿😿 I truly love the reunion episodes ❤ also Salazar is awesome too ❤❤ im so happy they reunited 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙏🏿♥️
Yeah, I had to fight, 'em back. Rare breed indeed!
Mitchell and James. What a tearjerker I swear.
The Boston accent is awesome!
Poor Alice, zealot parents, abusive esstranged husband, and a cowardly boyfriend. It seems like this woman never had happiness. I hope she rests in peace.
I second this. How coward her boyfriend acted!
Why didn’t the boyfriend try to fight that loser David off? He ran through the back door instead? Smh
I know right?
wow....everyone has a flight or fight instict....you never know what you would do in a situation like that. do not be so quick to judge.
@@dawn.michelle.woundedarrow2048 I know that I wouldn’t leave my friend behind to be killed and flee like a coward.
I guess he wasn't a Larry Dickens or anything.
"Therapeutic touch should never be performed by anyone without the proper training." lol. Yeah ok
The bloody name itself makes you cringe....and the acting is just terrible!
@Amanda Brookman... except that placebo effect is a real effect.
If you had a loving Mom and remember being small, you might recall that the kiss did, in fact, lower pain.
If "therapuetic touch" has a placebo effect for some people, thats a real effect. If someone has real confidence in a treatment or medicine that is *at least harmless and isn't replacing other proven treatment*
Then it is probably worthwhile for the patient because the scientific evidence is that it can actually help.
There is even a Nocebo effect...if you strongly disbelieve in a treatment or medicine, it wont help as much as it should.
All very interesting and odd.
@@melissasaint3283 Problem with that is Atheism is just as dogmatic as Theism. Members of both sides are equally stubborn in their beliefs that there is a God or no God. I myself do not give a fuck either way and live my life the best I can because it does not matter to me if God exists or not, it won't make my life any better either way, nor would forcing ideals down someone's throat.

Unsolved mysteries is so good to watch on a nufffin to do day. Good stories 🧐
That first story about therapeutic touch was nice for me. I've been in holistic health for 30 years and when she got to the emotional shock that caused that woman's asthma, that was confirming for me. The work I do now with EFT can more easily find those triggers. These people willing to do that early work gave us a great foundation.
My dad was in that war and he told me the American beat him up for no reason because he's Asian. y we are in the same army still this day all my family is in the military. glad my dad is ok he got shot in the head but he Survive
I'm glad your dad survived the war
when James and Mitch hugged, oh man, my problems seem small, as long as those two are smiling.
Seriously ❤
@40:04 Definition of true friendship and what humanity is all about.
25:37 Tony should've said "None of your punk ass's business!"
True. Big mistake he made there.
The actor playing the baby's father with the moustache in the first story reminds me of Guillermo from Jimmy Kimmel's show........
Lmao!! Omg! Yes!! I love Guillermo!! Lol.
Really? 😂
Absolutely love the story about Mitchell. For real
James was probably discriminated himself so knew what it felt like to be left out. #compassion put yourself in anothers position
For sure ❤

James and Mitchell's stiry vrungs tears of joy to ines eyes. Such a great story.
My idol: James Pearson
I agree with Tony's parents.
Incompetence, a coverup or a police rush to judgement.
I don't
