The Rio Grande Plan: Building Community Support for Railway Improvements

This video focuses on the process of building community support for local passenger rail projects, through the lens of the Rio Grande Plan's success.
The Rio Grande Plan is a citizen-driven proposal to improve railroad infrastructure in downtown Salt Lake City, including reestablishing the historic Rio Grande Depot as the city’s central transportation hub. Led by private citizens, the proposal has attracted the attention of local leaders, resulting in a federal grant and a city-led feasibility study.
