Striker was OP as hell, lol, they should have just built 5 more of them vs. going for that stupid wall. Striker's missiles take down a Cat IV in seconds, they man handle Otachi until Leatherback's EMP, and even heavily damaged against 2+ Kaiju at the end, they still manage to injure a Cat V enough that it has to call for help. Given how weak Slattern appeared during the breach battle, I think it would have taken the precursors a long time to create a Kaiju that would be able to overwhelm a Mk V.
The kaiju adapt. As shown in the first movie, newt drifts with a kaiju and otachi and leatherback have access to newt’s knowledge, and that’s how they found out countermeasures to Cherno Alpha and Crimson Typhoon. The kaiju would simply adapt and find a different way to kill the Strikers.
They merely don't have the resources enough to make, repair and run them.
Of course, they're using said ressources to build a wall which doe'sn't even have fucking canons in it. reminds me of the "anti-rabbit" fence built in Australia : holding both records of longest and most useless fence in human history.
A wall isn't a bad thing, but without anything to fight back a wall is just a wall...And no matter how long it holds, a wall will fall if punched long enough

Legendary should just make short movie as bonus for the blu-ray or something for each Jaeger just like Avengers did, 10 minutes or more per episode about something Jaeger and the pilots do in free time, insignificant but explain more about their character, like episode where Romeo Blue pilots explaining are they biological twins or not (this part kinda blurry right), how the Crimson Typhoon triplets work together and what makes them the only three pilot, how the Cherno Alpha pilots's husband-wife relationship works inside a tank, etc

The "Eureka" part of "Striker Eureka"--apart from its legendary usage by ancient Greek scholar, Archimedes, upon finding a method for determining the purity of gold--has a particular meaning in Australian history. Most Australians have learned about it in school. "Eureka!" is a word that 19th century gold miners in Australian would yell in celebration upon finding a large amount of gold. It literally means, "I found it!" Eureka is also associated with the "Eureka Rebellion" whereby Australian gold miners in 1854 revolted against the government due to the government's conditions, taxes, and mining fees at the time. These rebels, during the following "Battle of the Eureka Stockade," used a war flag referred to as the "Eureka flag" while fighting against police and against government troops. The flag features a stylised version of stars known in Australia as the "Southern Cross," or world-wide as the "Crux". The stars are shown as white with interconnecting, thick white lines on what is otherwise a blue flag. Today, the Southern Cross is associated with Australia because it can only be seen from the Southern Hemisphere.

I absolutely love striker. Definitely my favorite of the jaegers. Love the sting blades, the chest missiles and just the overall look of it. So badass.

@@bizmofunyuns799 u forgot that alot of breach portals are suddenly appearing so alot of kaiju aswell, so striker been fighting a lot of kaiju and btw, it didn't lose, it able to kill it with only a solo pilot before collapsing to the ground, so it isn't weak, they just severely outnumbered

Fun fact I've just found : The character with the saddest background is Herc since he lost his wife, his brother, his son, his close teammates, the one going through every Jaeger generations and actually saying goodbye to the Jaegers he piloted. ❤❤❤❤❤
I just got a 4K UHD TV and the first movie I watched on it was the original Pacific Rim, it's totally one of my guilty pleasures now, but seeing it again in that quality was fantastic. When I first watched the film I didn't like that the first time we saw all the Jaeger's fight together like Cherno Alpha and Crimson Typhoon, it was basically to see them be taken out. But with successive rewatches I was able to appreciate what their sacrifice meant for Gypsy Danger. And of course Striker's sacrifice was really bittersweet due to the pilots onboard.
They need to bring this Yeager back in the second movie!

When I watched this movie i thought, " why don't they put Jaegers everywhere?" I then realized it was expensive and they only needed Jaegers near nations with bodies of water like the pacific.

The best mech inside the Pacific Rim movie. Power, mobility and special weapons. My favorite mech. Full armor, guns and deadly blades. I hope we see a new Pacific Rim 2 with amazing Mech's and with special powers. Plasma Canons, Rail guns, Ultra Shields and many more. Bring hell to the kaiju monsters and their masters. Pacific Rim for ever guys. They should make a Ps5 game. Have fun buddies.

Jaegers, big, bad and expensive, capable of taking out multiple Kaiju over a career.
In the movies: Folded like laundry in less than 30 seconds...except for the main character's Jager, which is protected by the latest Mk. XXIX Echo 5 Enhanced Plot Armor Array, capable of shrugging off even a terminal velocity fall from over 50,000 feet, with no more than a slight jolt to the pilots within.

I'd say Strika was the strongest Jaeger in terms of fighting skills and speed, Gypsy only had more weaponry and was the protagonist Jaeger due to plot armor.
Definitely, as Stan Lee said, the person who wins is who the writer wants to win. Not the obvious choice of which is actually stronger, better trained, more experience etc. all of which Eureka was the superior
striker have best speed and tie in strenght do to a rating of 10 the same as cherno alpha also on of the best armor only behind cherno if the rating is to be trusted

Did anyone else notice how similar the design of Striker Eureka is to the Nirvash from the mecha anime Eureka Seven? I mean same overall silhouette, shoulder armor, head shape, headlights on chest, fights using wrist blades... Not to mention thate the nirvash is piloted by a girl named Eureka.

These yeagers are not 250ft (at least not according to the movie). The movie doesn’t state any specific sizes, but just comparing it with its surrounding objects such as buildings its safe to assume they’re way bigger than that

Very SnipySharky nah 2 arms 2 cannons capable of moving....think about it....both arms holding yhe kaiju down but the 2 cannons can go in for an easy kill or shoot the monster from a distance but will stay safe as the 2 arms r there to react to any attackd

I like to think the eureka in its name is a reference to the eureka tower in Melbourne Australia
The the Eureka Tower is named after gold miners in the 1800s who upon STRIKING gold yelled “EUREKA” fitting us Aussie’s would call building a robot powerful enough to protect Australia, Striker Eureka (Striking gold)
I also like to think that the reason why “Eureka” is in the name is because it’s referencing The Eureka Rebellion where Miners Rebel against the British Back in the 18th century

That's what seriously pisses me off about the Pacific Rim story, how stupid humans are in it. Like seriously, you think a wall of ALL things would stop gigantic sea-monsters? Whoever thought of that idea oughta be thrown into a Kaiju's mouth directly from a Jaeger. The whole fact that they decided "Oh Jaegers are just too expensive let's go with something cheaper" is just so annoying. We're talkin' the survival of humankind, who gives a damn about the price.

I guess some of the Atlantic and landlocked countries might not be as serious about the Kaiju threat but even then, who’s sitting there with their arms crossed and angry about expenses?
