- Stunning insight from an aerial perspective into the 12 hour ordeal some motorists faced after the storm of the decade in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. On Sunday night January 16th 2022 at 10h pm, the first snowflakes touched the ground in the GTA. An estimated 40 to 60 centimeters would then fall on the biggest city in Canada in the following day, rendering the 6ix inoperable. Trucks and buses stuck in snow are now a common sight as one strolls any streets of the city, now almost 48 hours into the storm. Snowfall stopped in the early afternoon yesterday on Monday but cleanup operations are still in full swing. Footage filmed this morning on Tuesday in this video shows dozens of big rigs and other vehicles trapped in snow and slowly advancing uphill on Highway 401 at the Weston Road interchange. No injuries were reported and OPP and MTO were spotted occasionally making checkups on stranded motorists.
