I have a GF 65 the build quality really isn't bad. U get a metal keyboard deck and top lid. It's not a tough book but they're fine if u take care of your stuff.
So many heatpipes yet runs so hot, the TUF A15 was expected to be hot since it had 2 small heatpipes and small intake vents, but this one, how the heck did they screw it up?

Wait. If the temps are like these, doesn't dual channel config make it slightly more worse? I've often experienced that whenever I switch from a single channel configuration to dual channel, temps go up by 2-3° on average.
Interesting, I never noticed. I suppose it does make sense as data is read and written to both sides of the physical RAM module which involves electricity and therefore: heat.

Ehh some new thermal paste and drilling some holes in the bottom cover (over fans) would probably tame thermals. I have a gf 65 rtx 2060 version and i tamed my thermals with throttlestop and afterburner.

Same problems. But with 144hz. I think they used the same 144hz panel from before which is pretty good for its price. In my country, you can only get Legion 5 for $100 more with inferior hardware(i310300+1650). So Legion 5 is definitely a no for me. If this laptop is around the same price with ideapad gaming 3, then it is a good deal

They need to show their new age creativity, so they design idiotic things that do not work. I bought this laptop because I abhor nvidia and avoid their tech when ever found. The fact that this laptop has an AMD CPU and GPU is a God send. I already game on a Ryzen 2500U so this is great upgrade for me. :D EDIT: Actually now using the laptop, besides the CPU heat issue which I can mitigate via thermal paste the laptop is FANTASTIC. I also do not understand the brightness or response time complaints regarding laptop screen itself. I found it to be very decent actually. I really don't get the hate, the laptop is great!
@@Nathanishope Also for me, I build computers as a hobby so I opened up this laptop and replaced the thermal paste so the temps are a lot better. Since you may not want to do that, I recommend getting the Lenovo Legion 5.
@@Nathanishope Hey buddy, you can buy thermal paste from most internet retail shop websites. I used the Arctic MX-4 for my laptop and it worked really well. You cam buy it from Amazon. Note that if you unlock the laptop heatsink for the CPU and GPU you will have to replace the thermal paste for both components before you re-fix the heatsink tool. Again if the performance is nearly the same I would go for the lenovo laptop. The issue people have with the MSI laptop is because of the way the heat exhaust ports were designed which does not dissipate heat efficiently. I think the lenovo laptop has a better design, I recommend comparing both to see their designs.

Asus Durability, reliability.....Lenovo Legion laptops. Even still you won't get more than 3 years out of a gaming laptop. Five if you game VERY little, if you're lucky. I'd buy a Steam Deck instead tbh.

I have the RP15 with the 62whr. I mostly use it as desktop replacement, though as a standalone notebook for coding/web I think the keyboard is fantastic and one of the reasons I went for it (including the general performance). On battery, office work I get around 3.5 hrs battery life which is OK. BTW I run MS Flight sim 2020 on med/high settings (32gb ram) and its amazing - ryzen CPU is so strong, and also not as hot as intel. If battery is key, then the HP Omen15 Ryzen version might be better for you. I can't comment on Helios300 or M15 as no direct experience.

The laptop only runs hot when charging and gaming together its max is 80c then so i put my battery from 100% to 95 in special battery settings and now its runs 70-75c while charging and gaming

Ryzen mobile aren't undervoltable. As for GPU - I asked him for it many times, he just doesn't wanna bother with it. If you want a channel that does GPU undervolting you should check out Bob of all Trades, as he often does it.
MSI is shall we say ethically "challenged" (e.g., trying to pay off YT reviewers, scalping their on video cards, withholding product from YT reviewers if they say anything bad about their products, etc. etc.)...I would NEVER EVER buy MSI products for that reason alone.

MSI stuff are just overpriced. the thermal arent the best and they are releasing a new alpha 15 with Ryzen 4800H and RX 5600M for $1300 USD. RX 5600M is basically slightly worse than GTX 1660Ti and yet it costs $300 more than the legion 5. Same thing here, acer nitro 5 for $700 and bravo for $950 even though RX 5500M is just slightly better than GTX 1650.

Hey Jarrod my 1660ti 10300h and 16gb 2933mhz ram acer nitro 5 laptop is not working like a 1660ti and 10300h laptop in games. my friend who has a laptop with 9300h 1650 and 8gb ram haves much more higher fps than me. my cpu usage is %100 bu i think thats because the entegradet graphics card usage. also i see %20-40 usage of 1660ti and %30-40 usage of entrgrated graphics card

MSI should just quit making gaming laptops, they use to be a top tier brand, now they have thermal throttling issues you can't fix, run way to hot, made cheap, new ones still have the hinges from hell. And it's just a basically overall bad product. Also MSI paying money and being shady about it? Yeah I certainly believe that, they should stick with motherboards and graphics cards. They are actually decent. As I build gaming desktops still.
Zen 2 was unknown at the time of designing these machines, previously Ryzen processors in laptops were, let's face it, quite garbage and beaten by Intel options 2 generations old. I think companies just didn't expect the demand and weren't prepared to risk going all in, but I expect that will change next gen.

@@an_mous excellent, make sure to upgrade dual channel memory becz it eliminates micro stutters in games.. single channel causes little stutters in the games.

MSI stuff are just overpriced. the thermal arent the best and they are releasing a new alpha 15 with Ryzen 4800H and RX 5600M for $1300 USD. RX 5600M is basically slightly worse than GTX 1660Ti and yet it costs $300 more than the legion 5. Same thing here, acer nitro 5 for $700 and bravo for $950 even though RX 5500M is just slightly better than GTX 1650.

The thermals is awful on the bravo 15 and i mean it was well vented all the time and it cost £649.99
.... so after a year I got a legion 5 and honestly I never looked back it's amazing then built my own pc with a ryzen 5 5600x with RTX 2080 SUPER few months after

Hey Jarrod my 1660ti 10300h and 16gb 2933mhz ram acer nitro 5 laptop is not working like a 1660ti and 10300h laptop in games. my friend who has a laptop with 9300h 1650 and 8gb ram haves much more higher fps than me. my cpu usage is %100 bu i think thats because the entegradet graphics card usage. also i see %20-40 usage of 1660ti and %30-40 usage of entrgrated graphics card

MSI should just quit making gaming laptops, they use to be a top tier brand, now they have thermal throttling issues you can't fix, run way to hot, made cheap, new ones still have the hinges from hell. And it's just a basically overall bad product. Also MSI paying money and being shady about it? Yeah I certainly believe that, they should stick with motherboards and graphics cards. They are actually decent. As I build gaming desktops still.

Zen 2 was unknown at the time of designing these machines, previously Ryzen processors in laptops were, let's face it, quite garbage and beaten by Intel options 2 generations old. I think companies just didn't expect the demand and weren't prepared to risk going all in, but I expect that will change next gen.

I'm struggling to decide which of these would be better for 4K video editing and rendering, they both blow the budget, so can't possibly go any higher spec.
The HP has less memory though so would need to upgrade that but the MSI is 100 euros more expensive. Any advice anyone? Greatly appreciated, cheers.

@@an_mous excellent, make sure to upgrade dual channel memory becz it eliminates micro stutters in games.. single channel causes little stutters in the games.

@@an_mous no problem it gives almost close performance to 3050 ti in many games, only 3050ti is ahead of 5-10 fps in ultra setting in assassins creed odyssey.
