I love the way Dean says "don't lose this" lol...it does seem like every customer that brings a new radio in for install has taken it out of the box to look at it and lost or left some of the parts out when they put it back in box..or they bring in used amp and half the screws are missing...never fail
Can't wait for the rest. I was really considering one of these after CES but couldn't deal with the factory system no mo! I have an new XR in it now so in a year or two I can upgrade. I hope they wind up making more efficient use of the screen area and keep the vol knob. I will 100% trade a smaller screen for a vol knob.
@fivestarcarstereo Dean, at minute 1:10 you state that you can use the main wire harness from a previous generation Kenwood Excellon radio with the this unit. Would my already wired DMX905S harness plug right in to this unit? It would save so much time. Alternatively, would the DMX905S wire harness work on the DMX1037 (non reference)?
Would anyone else like to see Kenwood make a large in dash screen and have someone like Metra make a specific dash kit for it? Something like the Pioneer DMH-C5500nex, but made by Kenwood.

In part 3, when configuring/flashing by vehicle make... Mercedes and BMW are not among the vehicles... does this mean that this product won't work on Mercedes and BMW?
I remember I asked a question about kenwood usb loading speed and dean answered the question, and Sony's rsx gs90 is better that kenwood with the speed of 128g usb I've founded out, so I wont be buying kenwood any time soon intill they get on board with sony and usb speed, and being able to use usb pro audio app and sony being able to connect a wired pro USB cable and using tidal , sony does it perfectly, kenwood you only can use usb and it's slow loading on a 128g or higher gig..
How do we wire up video bypass on this unit? Just ground it out or will a need the micro bypass? Also does it need the vehicle speed to be hooked up for any of the functions?
Hey guys I just got this radio 1057xr and I’m trying to use a dash cámara that I bought like 5 years ago and the cámara is n520 kenwood but I noticed that I can’t get in to the dash Menu or see what I have recorded. Thank you in advance .
Kind of disappointed in only 1 USB. I like being able to charge my phone and navigate, and play music from an USB drive on my DMX7704. Now with this one I've got to have an external charger as well. That's an annoyingly cheap omission on a $1200 head unit.
I have 2 USB sockets on the back of my DMX8019 (one for CarPlay & one for Android Auto). I use Android Auto wirelessly, and use the Android Auto USB socket for a USB stick with mp3s on. My question is: with a separate USB cable, can I concurrently use the other USB socket, the CarPlay one, solely to charge my dash-mounted auto-grip phone holder?
Somebody help me out here. I have this exact unit in my 2019 Tundra, but the weather widget doesn't ever display any weather - it only says "No Data." More importantly, when I make/receive calls through CarPlay, the other person can hear me, but I can't hear them at all. I don't even hear it ring. If I call via simple bluetooth then it works perfectly. Everything else on CarPlay works perfectly, too. I'm using the adapter from Crutchfield to use the stock GPS that was already in my Tundra, along with the Maestro RR. Any suggestions?
It appears Kenwood no longer has the KCA-HD100 HDMI cable they recommend for installing with this particular radio. Do you guys know of a suitable replacement that will fit in that HDMI port? Thanks!

Imo, the volume knob sets it apart from other floating screens.

I'd love to upgrade my DMX906S, but that knob... and the bezel is so huge. The Pioneer 8600 looks so much cleaner.

I like it. I might just get it. But I gotta figure out what Amp to pair it with since this unit already comes with crossover & “dsp” settings.
