That's why my hair was dry! I put so little effort my hair screamed at me for moisture. Now I oil my scalp everyday, spray it with African braid spray w tea tree and olive oil and wash my hair every week. I'm happy with my efforts

This is my issue, cause 1, I am a lazy natural. There’s just too much maintenance, that’s why I leave it twisted it up or braided but also 2, even if I oil it and and stuff after the initial moisturizing from washing and protective styling, it goes super dry the very next day. 🙃. Like what is the point-my hair won’t keep oil or leave in or anything.
My hair is the same way so I've been doing some things to switch it up to change that.
1. Use aloe vera as your leave in. Everytime you moisturize, use aloe, THEN your cream then your oil (or oil then cream, which ever)
2. I also don't use oil alone to seal anymore. I use shea butter instead and add an oil like sweet almond or avocado oil. They soften the hair A LOT!
3. I've been doing the green house method most nights except for the nights I'm acting up. Basically you moisturize before bed and then put a shower cap on to trap in moisture over night. Definitely helping
4. Make sure to wet your hair with water EVERY day. So important for people with high porosity/super dry hair
Hope these tips help. Strands of Faith is also a company whose products actually work to keep my hair moisturized. Most products don't for me.

FINALLY, I've found someone with my hair texture and length that I can watch! Y'all I've been searching for a channel that I can relate to hair-wise and I always find content that is either 4C, in the 3's, or just longer/shorter than my hair. Why does my normal hair look like her "neglected hair"
My hair takes so long to get wet and then so long to get soaked. Then it drys, while im still washing it.. and then when i get out the shower, it goes back to looking like her "neglected" hair. I dont think my hair has ever been healthy, or looked good in the slightest, unless it was straightened. Im starting to think i just dont look good. with coily/curly hair. After i lost hope in my natural hair, i now striaghten it every 3 weeks, 3 passes, no heat protector. I dont wash it often ever so i dont mess up the flat ironing. Im ready to shave it all off and start over but i dont know what i should do different to take care of it.

Idk your hair type but I’m like 3c4a and have the sáme issue. I basically just chopped it all off (unevenly while I was high af lolol) in June. I’ll lyk if restarting the process does my hair justice or not!
I’m not understanding why your hair dries while you are still washing it. It sounds like you damaged it. The way you’re treating it is why it’s acting like that. You might just have to start over, I am a strong advocate of big chopping. I’ve done it three times and ive finally got it together.

Maybe you could try a spray leave in or an oil or something, for when you don't want to do your hair but you don't want a trip to the sahara? When that lazy mood hits it *hits*. I had to tell myself "look, this hair can be tangled or it can be dry, but there's no way I'm dealing with both!"

Hold on jess, the last long term protective style u had were the passion twists in your "the curls are back vid" I'd like 2 see you do your own box braids, without the rubber bands cauz we don't do dat no more I 2020!
