    I received a copy of Bruce Lee with a complete C64 set up that I picked up for $50 from a guy who was clearing out a house he had and had no interest in what he had. Thanks to that dude for the 1541 drive, 2 monitors, 1200 Baud modem, 2 controllers, and 50 lbs of various software.

    I loved Maniac Mansion! I spent so many hours on all the stuff in the box, looking at the posters and stuff, reading all the little notes as if they were clues. It certainly is a piece of gaming history. I figured for sure it would have been something that would be another big IP like Lord of the Rings, Marvel or Star Wars, honestly but MM is well deserved in that top spot.

      I put MM’s poster on my wall as a kid. Loved that game. I also was a bit young… the campy humor went somewhat over my head and so I was genuinely very nervous playing the game worrying that Dr Fred would catch us and kill us , LOL

    Wizard of Wor, Space Taxi, and Bruce Lee - 10 out of 10 games in my book. I played all three of those for more hours than a guy should have. My top C64 game I own the original of is Archon. It is also my favorite C64 game of all time. Pitstop II would be a close second. I only own a handful of original games, but they are ones I practically wore out.

    Except Bruce Lee, every other game was completely unknown to me until today 🤷🏻‍♂️ But back then i received C128 and no floppy 💾 disc.
    All i was doing was programming in Basic.
    Later, my friend got C64 (i had no idea inside C128 is also one 😁. When i typed GO64, i thought something went wrong since it wasn't green anymore and did a reset)...
    Note: C128 had German guide and I had no clue about it Same with English back then 🤷🏻‍♂️...
    Anyway, my friend actually only was playing games and so we played together what was available back then on tapes. Way later we bought 1541 floppy drive ...
    ...and then PC came into his house and i received Amiga 500...
    Rest is a history...
    Lately, few months ago i returned to C128 (Emulator) because i always wanted to learn assembly language and make my own game 😁
    Even after close to 4 decades later ... It's never too late 👆
    Using Edass 128, native on C128 (VICE). So it's not a cross compiler.
    Btw. I still have C128D and C128 and Plus 4 and 1541, 1571 ... Unfortunately, unused since very long time...

    and second of all, some Commodore 64 games -

    I also have MONTEZUMA'S REVENGE
    for my Commodore 64 as one of the

    Indeed, this comes as a bit of a surprise. I hadn't been thinking about collector's values on the C-64 side of gaming. And while most of these titles I have never heard of, Space Taxi rings a bell. I am 90 percent certain that I still have an original disk of this great game. It is really boggling my mind if there is a manual and/or a box that came along with that disk, though. I have so much retro stuff in storage that it's like a treasure trove of a video game store's back room. Many of which are on the console side. Like all six OG Mega Man's. (Some with box/manual.) Or Tengen's Tetris. Pocky & Rocky, plus the sequel. Lots more like that. But by going through videos on collectable games like this is how I learned that I had Clay Fighter... and the box. (That B-Buster's exclusive.) And Buster Douglas Boxing complete. (SMS) Yes. I grew up at the prefect time when all this stuff was just dirt cheap. Like scoring EarthBound for under $25 or Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt for a thin dime. Still, Space Taxi is worth that much? Now I wonder if my copy still even works. As the last time I fired up the old C-64, it was suffering from some kind of glitch and I left it permanently on the repair list. By now, it is going to need a new power supply and some fresh caps, along with some knowledge on what that glitch might be caused by. (My first bet, faulty power supply.)

    Wow, there's some crazy valuable things you've got! I doubt I have anything that comes even close. If I scrounged around, I probably have a full Ultima II but the only component I have immediately on hand is its pack in cloth map.
    I don't know how people feel about Ultima II. It's easily the most unusual port of Ultima to the C64, with its green background color graphics and character graphics mode speediness. But it lacks the beautiful music of Ultima III onward, which makes it less memorable.

    • @IsaacKuo
      @IsaacKuo 10 месяцев назад +1

      Okay, looking things up, I do actually have a couple Saturn games in the same ballpark - Radiant Silvergun and (Japanese) Rayearth. When I initially bought Rayearth, I shamelessly used the stickers knowing it would reduce value later on. I had no intention of ever selling it, and still have no such intention. So yeah, I used the stickers!
      Well, looking it up, using up the stickers apparently only reduces the prices one or two hundred dollars. I have absolutely no idea why demand for this game is so incredibly high (only the Japanese version is so highly valued). With Radiant Silvergun, I understand. It's absolutely legendary and people who have it don't want to sell it - severely reducing the potential supply. Rayearth, though? It's a fun nicely put together game, but ... really?

    • @FloppyDeepDive
      @FloppyDeepDive  10 месяцев назад +1

      I used to have the Ultima III complete as a kid. I have no idea what happened to the map and books but I still have the floppy. It could still be at my parents. So kick myself for not keeping that altogether

    • @IsaacKuo
      @IsaacKuo 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@FloppyDeepDive Sadly, my experience with Ultima III was ... well, let's just say that I never finished the game because of what I think was a corrupted world map, and I just chalked it up to me getting what I paid for.

    Congratz on the 3 years! I hadn't heard of about half of those titles, but there were so many C-64 games and I grew up near the middle of nowhere so I'm not that surprised.
    I don't know how much they are really worth but the ones I paid the most for were boxed versions of Star Wars, Diamond Mine, War of the Lance and Dungeon Master's Assistant Volume II.
    I also picked up a sealed copies of the disk version of H.E.R.O., M.U.L.E. and Track & Field somewhere in the last 20 years or so since I got back into C-64 stuff.

    I was really surprised that Maniac Mansion is THAT expensive.
    Luckily you don't have to own an original copy to play the game 🙂
    I guess the most expensive C64 game in Europe is probably the UK version of The Great Giana Sisters. The original German release seems to be a little cheaper.
    That's probably because the game got pulled off the shelves shortly after its release in the UK because... it's a Super Mario clone and not a bad one.
    I don't think I ever saw an original copy of that game but everyone had a cracked copy back in the days.
    It's hard to tell what my most valuable piece of software is because I'm more a hardware collector, but it's probably the 2 Imagic games (Atlantis & Demon Attack) for the Philips G7000 aka Odyssey² in America.
    They aren't that valuable, probably less than €100 each, but it took me 8 years of visiting retro trading fairs in 3 different countries to get them.
    I hate buying on ebay, so those retro fairs are my main source of retro stuff.
    Luckily there is like a dozen of those fairs nearby... which means within 3 hours of driving range... each year and the prices also seem to be lower than on ebay.
    And you can look and check the stuff you are buying beforehand. Not to mention that you buy from fellow collectors or from dealers who have a reputation to lose and not from some random guy on ebay.

      @FloppyDeepDive  10 месяцев назад

I'm taking modern up to date images I've taken from around 2008 to the present and turning them I to 320x200 gives and watching the C64 decode my photos. Your missing a lot of the best games Pirates!, Impossible Mission, Wolfenstein, and more. These are more mainstream and most are not the real gems.

    Hi, just took down my old c64-c64c-c128-and about 400 game titles. Since you seem an avid c64 guy, are there any titles you dont have that I might?? thanks Tom

      Original disks, over a hundred, also have 300 archived copies of programs/game disks. to many to make a list, just wondering if there was some you dont have that i may, Getting ready to put all of my commodore stuff up for sale, and you seemed to be excited about your stuff so i dropped a message before its gone. Most have the manuals but only a few the original boxes. :)

    Congratulations! Aegina's Quest looks charming, but Wasteland is a Stone Cold Classic! I played it about 20 years ago in DOSBox via the Interplay 10 year collection. Fantastic game!
    Duck Tales Quest for Gold looks champion!
    nUMBER 1! Wow! That's pricey!

    My collection topped out at around 650 for C64 & Amiga, Genuinely buggers to display as there were so many different box sizes over that 10 year period. I'm down to the games with interesting bumph like the Infocom, Gold Box etc.

    Great video! Like you, back in the day, I could never have afforded the originals - so most of my collection was pirated - although I really salivated at the beautiful box art which I could only stare at and not afford! I'm going to take issue with your No1 though - a full disk version of "Pirates" (box, manual, map etc), the Ultima Series or even the Microprose series like "Silent Service" complete are increasingly rare and expensive these days (at least in Australia) - things might be different in the big old US of A!

    • @FloppyDeepDive
      @FloppyDeepDive  10 месяцев назад

      I have Pirates and Silent Service but they didn't break into the top 10. Now Ultima would but I don't own it. I'm glad you liked it and Thanks for Watching!

    1. Commodore c64 is a computer not a console
    2. When the c64 appear the sound is annoying. Please level your audio
    3. Try looking at the camera lens not its screen
