I think there is no such thing as following hinduism or practicing hindusim. Its a way of life. To be righteous or not is a choice we hav to make on a daily basis. If we remind us of karma, we will be conscious of our actions and not cause deliberate harms to others. As far as teachings regarding eradication of anger, jealousy, lust, hatred etc we should do it despite any scripture becoz it only makes us miserable. The dieties / so called IDOLS are not mere IDOLS , they are real great human beings elevated to what a god wd be like not by their miracles but by their utmost simplicity and extremely ordinary lives, they lived among us, they suffered like humans , they taught us by setting example for us, we love them becoz of their IDEALS, not becoz somebody told us to worship them as gods. We worship them not becoz they r going to save us, bt becoz they showed us the way to save ourselves. India is literally the only culture that make gives u paths to become god like entity. We hav godly saints in every century. Its not just rama ,krishna way back in time. Its almost like we hav a prophet/messenger in every century. Its like god never left us. And the message is wide and clear. U dont hav to fear god. U hav to love god, merge into god, u dont hav to look for something divine. U hav to divinise urself. If selflessness is growing inside u, truet me something truly beautiful is happening, whether u do rituals or not. This freedom is coming from series of enlightened folks. We hav a whole bunch of realised saints from all paths of life. And thats why we easily accept diversity. I just hope ,nobody attempts to organise Hinduism like other organised religions. Hinduism is a cosmic chaos and it has produced most number of enlightened beings and continue to do so. As a hindu , my perspective is clear apart from worldly goals , i hav clear cut spiritual goals. And as krishna said, spirituality is not something that u go find in himalayas. U can become spiritual wherever u are. Infact , great beings know , worldly activities r as important as spiritual sadhana, becoz at a point both coincide. I dont think asceticism is good for the world, but i cant judge them becoz only few people hav guts to be ascetics. And what ascetics can find in the field of spirituality, i as a non-ascetic cannot imagine. Lord shiva was the first ascetic and he discovered 112 meditation techniques, each for different kind of personality, capable of making u reach highest truths. Honestly, i m just lucky and overwhelmed, that i m born in india. And i hav read exactly what i should hav read. Really grateful for all u guys appreciating DHARMIC traditions of india, becoz its not just hinduism. Sikhism, jainism, buddhism, all hav great things , knowledge, examples ,teachings that can change ur life. India is truly world's First DHARMIC nation. May be not last.
