The April Fool's stunt, as always, is that the pedal is *real*.
A couple months ago, we had a confluence of bad and good luck. An unfortunate batch of guitar picks caused us to have our entire shelf of Parabola enclosures to get blemished with odd discolorations and Gorbachevian birthmarks. How'd we feel about that? In the immortal memeworthy words of Pete Campbell: "Not great, Bob!"
But then, almost simultaneously, our GM Ben Kerley found an incredible vintage Silvertone 1482 tube combo amp. It sounds incredible and smells even worse. We absolutely have to keep it.
So how can we rework these Parabola pedals to have the vibe of that dream of a pawnshop score, without the odor? Well, let's crank the gain, redo these enclosures, and give the people what they want. So it's dirtier - less off the "wow, this old weird solid state amp has a cool trem" vibe, and more "deer gawd, is this amp supposed to be this rude?" And when you kill the depth and crank the gain? Gnarly.
