I don’t say this lightly; they are better now. Their songs have more depth in both music, lyrics, and concept. The musicianship is top notch, and they are breaking new ground as a band, not just rehashing and repackaging the same old thing. The last several albums since Murder By Pride have been not just some of their best material, but is as good and relevant as anything else out there right now. God bless Stryper

Saw Stryper in Dallas about a week and a half ago. Fantastic show, still great live after 39 years.

I've always loved Stryper growing up and Michael Sweet's music...me and my sister have been big fans for many years and already have our tickets to see you all in concert in 2023...4th row seats and can't wait!!!! ...be rocking the house
God bless the Sweet brothers and the boys of Stryper. They've been going at it for 40 years, preaching the gospel and leading people to the Lord with their brand of Christian power pop metal.
35 of those years ago, they were there for me when I was first finding my way as an adolescent, having spent the better part of my years in the church. With as many of us that were being led to listen to heavy metal music, they were a voice given to my generation to try to speak some of what God wanted us to hear. They were there as I walked away from the church as a teen, away from Christ, and started going on my prodigal son path, not realizing that was exactly what I was doing at the time.
And 35 years later, after making the decision to finally come Home again, Stryper are STILL there. Old men now, but STILL kicking ass and never failing in their devotion to God and speaking His Truth. Such a powerful message in this song, for me personally, reminding me how I've truly just lived the "same old story" my whole life, always seeking, but never finding that greater truth within. Now I remember.
I love how much fun they're having with this video as well. There's no pretenses, just "this is us, this is what we have to say, yes we came from the 80's and it's still who we are, and God is groovy so get with it" kinda thing. They really are super talented musicians, so it was funny to see them playing all the usual musical metal tropes that you would normally hear in a lot of songs, especially in the solos. Very tongue in cheek for them, though also very poignant as well.
Michael's voice is still amazing, and I'm praying for his sight to get better. That has to be an ultimate, Job-like test of faith for him, I'm sure.
40 years of rocking for Christ, and I don't see them stopping until Michael returns Home for good. Hallelujah! I hope they tour again soon so I can finally worship with them live. 👏

Also, I love how Perry has really integrated himself into the band. You've seen him very slowly from, "Sorry" to "The Valley" to "Do Onto Others" to "Divider" to "Transgressor" to "Same Old Story" just transform from "the new guy" to an integral part of the band's sound, personality and look. Absolutely love you guys!!

Exactly...having just been saved in summer of '88, Stryper was a big encouragement to my faith. So stoked to know the Lord, then to have people throw water on my fire simply because they don't prefer the style of music.

The intro sounded like it came right out of Soldiers Under Command, the chorus like something out of Murder By Pride and the solo (WOW!!!) took me back to the glory days of the 80's. They're definitely making a VERY bold statement with album here: WE ARE STRYPER AND WE ARE GOING TO ROCK THE HELL OUT OF YOU!!!! And we couldn't be happier!!
THIS WAS AWESOME! ROCK STAR VIBES ALL AROUND! Oz looking ready to rumble, Perry whipping and strutting, Robet is so dang cool , not to mention, his personality behind the drums is addictive. Vocals were off the charts! Got to go watch again’ I can’t stop smiling!

My favorite guitar tone for nearly 40 years
Stryper was literally the very first Christian music I ever heard that wasn’t from a hymnal. Checking them out led me to checking out Keith Green at the same little shop…which led me to Last Days Ministries…which has led to 33 years in full time missions and volunteer ministry serving with YWAM (Youth With A Mission.) THANK YOU for Godly inspiration!
