  • Initially this video's audio was not working but with a lot of cleaning and a dash of luck I got it working.
Following on from part one unseen short strand I personally found the documentary maker quite short in his comments around the people that have allowed him into their lives for several years at this point.
Perhaps he was having a bad day when he put his voice over onto the video, we shall never know.
I found it stuck out at me that he revisited the street (Anderson street) and the same man where a bomb went off prematurly killing 8 people and was short about the man for no reason what so ever.
Regardless I am proud to have gotten this part 2 working to be saved in memory of the proud people of the Short Strand that died on May 28th 1972, may you all rest in eternal peace.

I went to school (St Monica's) with many girls from the Strand. My own maternal grandmother was originally from Seaforde St. I was brought up in an entirely protestant area..bar two other catholic families in the street. Some of my schoolmates had never met a protestant. Such loss of life.. for what..when you consider what we're facing now.

She mentions the guys setting the fire on the ladies night, I want to hear more about what happened but can't find anything online. I don't suppose you know more? I'm trying to learn about the 'Troubles' (I'm English) and your channel has been absolutely amazing, I've watched almost all of it... thank you!

Someone in the Republican circles in the 70s said." Let us live as brothers and sisters or die as fools " (So true)

What's going on in the final scene? Very gloomy, hard to make out. Car pulls up, men get out, Look to be carrying guns? Are they British army? Someone says in an English accent "Stop filming please" They seem to be wearing uniform. What's on the roof of the car?

Protestants were burned out of their homes in Thistle Court and Duncairn Gardens, Belfast.....including protestant families ethnically cleansed from the border counties during the 80s.
