I was 10 in 1962.... the reason I don't remember these shows is because back then we kids watched what our parents watched, and we were busy with friends, scouts, homework, reading. Saturday and Sunday were our TV nights.

Excellent compilation and many thanks for putting it together. I was born in 1962 and have no memory of these shows, but a few I remember reading about in TV encyclopedias. After seeing this I'm so mad at TV Land for not airing these. Even if they lasted only 13 shows each, there are enough series to provide many months, if not years, of programming. It's great to know these series still exist on film/video but sad they are sitting in a vault not being enjoyed by the public.

I was born in 1951 and I watched a lot of TV as a nipper, but I have never heard of any of these sit-coms from the 1960-65 era with the exception of two: Hank and Harrigan. The others must have been on and off the air before the fall leaves had all fallen down in the new TV season as I have no memory of them.

I was ten years old in 1965 and I just remember my parents black and white Westinghouse TV set, 21 inches it was. Then in 1966 they got a color set. Motorola. 25 inches! French Provincial! It seemed as if as if the repair man was at our house every week to set the color.

These must be the shows that weren't hits and are long forgotten. I can remember TV from 1964 onward though. It does make me wonder if my Grand kids to come see the intros to my era of shows like Batman, The Monkees or Bewitched, will they not recognize them as anything important just like I viewed these 28 intros.

I came along in the mid 50's and My parents bought what was then , a big Console TV in 1953, and I grew up watching TV and I never saw these shows, I do watch ME TV and a few others and on there I have seen "one big happy family" but I had never seen that before either. I looked up some of these shows and they didn't last more than one season, so yes, these were not hits.
Funny note, my Dad bought us a new Color Console TV in 1967 and paid the same price for it as they did on their 1953 TV

That's what 100% real orchestral instrumental music and analog recording technology sound like. I was born in 1960, I remember a few things from my very early years, but I only remember bits and pieces of these intros. I started remembering live action tv shows as a continual stream of memory source at around 7 years old or so. I do remember cartoon intros from my early years though, lol. Things like Mod Squad, I Spy, The Man from Uncle, Combat, Rat Patrol, The FBI, Mission: Impossible, The Fugitive, Ironsides, Cannon, The Immortal, Peyton Place, Longstreet, lol, dang there were lots of what I thought were good tv shows back then.

Am I the only one to think that there is a fortune to be had in restoring and issuing these shows on DVD? I've read a lot of TV books and wondered how they looked like and what the productions were like. Most of these shows never saw the light of day again after their first run. I'm sure there's more than just a few of us who'd watch these shows for their historical value and connection to later more popular shows. 'It's A Man's World' with a pre-'That Girl' Ted Bessel? Especially now. Mad Men?

If these shows, WERE SUCH GREAT TV, how is that, none of them, I re-peat, NONE OF MADE IT PAST THE FIRST SEASON, and here's something ELSE fro you to chew on, just how the FLIP is that none of these "REALLY 'CLASSY', TV SHOWS, has ever managed to MAKE IT INTO 'SYNDICATION'?
If the Television doesn't get the lead out of it's ASS, these so-called "REALLY GREAT TV SHOWS", are going the way of the old movies. The film those tv shows, were shot on is GOING TO SIT IN A STORAGE WAREHOUSE, AND ROT AWAY. IF SOMEONE DOESN'T SET FIRE TO THE WAREHOUSE, FOR THE INSURANCE.

Few of these shows made it over 'the pond' to Britain obvious exeptions were 'I Married Joan' with tall Joan Stevens and her competitor was 'The Lucy Show'/ 'I Love Lucy' with Lucille Ball who was partly wasted in comedy because she was a jolly good straight actor and no mean business lady. Of cause Jack Benny and Bob Hope, Burns & Allen and Amos & Andy and Phil Silvers (Bilko) but gradually the Brits took over UK TV comedy , however it's still good to see the odd Burns & Allan on satellite here

I grew up in Culver City, 2 blocks from Desilu, and about the same distance from MGM studios, and the Hal Roach complex. When not using a sound stage, these shows were shot right on the streets of Culver City [day and night]. It was so common that we kids rarely stopped to watch production, and in fact complained a bit if it required us to take a short detour to get home from school. My mother's house has appeared in hundreds of films and TV episodes.

Ann B. Davis was in a few sitcoms in the '60s. She was also in the original "Bob Cummings Show", as "Schultzie", his office assistant. She was a busy lady. She also worked with Sid Melton, who played "Alf Munro" ("Ralph's" brother on "Green Acres").

Same as you, may have heard of "Wackiest Ship" too or else I'm confusing it with "Mr. Roberts."
I was born '63 and "Mr. Roberts" was in syndication for a long time when I was a kid. I don't remember seeing any of these other shows in syndication, ever.

I was born in January 1964 and grew up on a lot of 1960s reruns - but I had never heard of ANY of these shows until I got to "Mr. Roberts" and "The Wackiest Ship in the Army" - both of which I have never actually seen.
Harrigan and Son's theme song is, of course, the George M. Cohan classic, "Harrigan."

These were one season shows, however The Joey Bishop Show was a minor hit that ran for 3 seasons. McKeever and the Colonel did play in syndicated re-runs for a few years. I suspect more people saw them than the so-called hits today. Shows today don't have as high as ratings that even mediocre shows had then. Would love to see these in their entirety and how cheap would it be for Nick at Nite to create a channel around these without having to replay them every night. Just run an episode a week maybe in a couple different time slots. These must be in the public domain by now.

There seems to be enough material to launch a 'Nick at Nite 2'?
Maybe the classic sponsor who ran the original shows would pick up the cheap tab? I think this nostalgia network could be funded cheaper than a 1970 used car commercial for late night local networks price scales?

Well, this was interesting to say the least. I had no idea there were so many TV shows back then that I absolutely do not remember now.
I think I might remember the Joey Bishop show, but I'm not sure if I actually remember it, or if I "remember" it because they've been showing it on RTV within the past year.
I do remember the title "The Wackiest Ship In the Army", but that's all a remember about that show.
On all the rest, I draw a total blank.

Lucy was impressed with how much Osborne knew about movies, in the days when that was quite unusual.
