the radar is actually very usable with the R3R missiles. I always bring 2 with me along with the R60's just because of how much you can lead them, leading to great kills against people who don't have RWR or chaff.
I love my mig21smt, like a few others here i just cant go without the utility of r3r's, and every time i tried full r60 loadouts I feel a bit naked - though it probably helped having lots of practice with them exclusively in the mig21s. Currently i run 1 r3r & 3 r60's and its seems like the sweet spot for me. If you use that fantastic engine power, quickly climb to like 8-10km alt - you should have an altitude/energy advantage against most targets and they really help to contest that airspace & push enemy fighters down to the deck before they become a threat, as although they are certainly still an early missile - r3r's perform unexpectedly well up that high - in addition to the head-on's, you can get reasonably consistent hits at 4-5km range so long as your mindful to setup a good launch & even out to 6km if the stars align. Though at altitudes below 4km, both the migs radar and the missile itself do really start to struggle, so getting them off the rail early while people are still low energy from their climb helps as well - then you can just push in with those fantastic r60's or if the situation presents itself mix it up in a dogfight and squirt people down with the 23mm water pistol.
this jet was my first top tier jet, back when it was MiG-21MF vs F-4E. I loved it back then and ever since. But since the introduction of the Tomcat, every single game I had I was uptiered to 11.3 and just shat on. Normally had about 1.2KD in it, now I flew 23 games and got 0 kills, I dont know whats going on. And paying almost 19k repair for 0 rewards isnt helping my SL either... I will try again in 1-2 months, maybe I can make it work again

And please name literally any other 10.3 that has the same firepower, agility, and defensive capability as the SMT/MF. I say this having played them and their competition, they are simply too good for 10.3, and WAY too good to fight 9.3s.

You haven't flown the mirage IIIE if you think it has "rly good mobility", its a shitbrick. The IIIC isn't as bad, but loses the flares. Aside from maybe the F-8s, there isn't a single 10.3 that comes close to matching the SMT's performance, weapons, and versatility. Everything has fewer missiles, lacks flares, has worse flight performance, or a combination of those factors. I've been playing the SMT recently and I've had more downtiers than uptiers. And in uptiers, it can defend itself really well, unlike most of the other 10.3s. If it didn't have flares I'd definitely be fine with it at 10.3, but why it didn't go back up to 10.7 after getting flares is beyond me. The plane is just WAY too good and doesn't suffer nearly as bad in an uptier as its contemporaries, there's no other way around it.

Germany is good in air rb but absolutely sucks in cas options. Hope this update brings some cas options between the g91 and the f104G. Alpha jet or something from argentinia could be possible. The G91 cant compete with cas like the A4e and other american cas options
I don't agree with you about R3R. I take 3xR-60 1xR3R. I wait until I hit 1000km/h mark and climb around 25 degree and if I have some Harriers, F4 Phantoms or F5's up there I wait until they are 1.5 km close and fire them a R3R head-on. Got lots of kills with that way. Kinda risky because their guns (F4 or 5) can reach you before or while you are launching the missile but didn't have any problem with that so far. R3R's are great for head-ons especially in high altitudes.
MIG-21 is by far one of the best Aircraft ever built in this world! By the way, great videos! Everyone you upload is amazing! Only problem I have is that they are so costly! lol I will try to eventually get these cool Aircrafts and Tanks!
Better performance than A-5C, just stay high, as I said in video. Nothing can compare at it's BR to this things climb rate. You can just boom and zoom everyone below you
I disagree - with the addition of the SU25s and the A10s is not as good as it used to be and you can get alot of kills with the R60s but you can't quite control the game like it used to be able to. I'd much rather the F5C at 10.3 as crazy as it sounds.
I'd say that the F-5c is the best 10.3 rn, it's just not doing so good in game because all the new players buy it and tank it into oblivion, or besides that the crusaders are overtly good, aim 9Ds or the the E variant with the Aim 9c possibly even the French 10.3 jets like the mirage III's or even the French crusader
The F-5C probably has a higher skill ceiling, but this thing is braindead easy to use. The Crusaders used to be competitive with this thing but the missiles got nerfed into the dirt.

I've fought these thing in the f5c and they have done a complete 180 after I pass them and somehow hardly lose any speed and catch me
FTC is slow. Mig21 accelerates fast. Are they doing split s downward at all. Cus just a little altitude you can maintain .98mach in a turn pretty easy
