The lawyer is struggling and playing for time to think of an appropriate answer without admitting discrimination. Is he the best lawyer that Harvard could come up with?
It's a bad case. Even the best lawyer would probably struggle defending this racist crap
Unfair policies are impossible to defend.
This is a key inquiry by Justice Alito. The response seems deficient/self defeating/deflecting/non responsive.
Regardless discrimination is discrimination. Justice Alito is right. 🇺🇲
The Lawyer is inept at even babbling double-talk…
No he isn't
Alito crushed them with the “zero sum game” aspect of college admissions. Any race-based “plus” for one type of applicant ethnicity is by definition a “minus” against those of a less-preferred group.
Slam dunk.
No, it is not.
@@brianzembruski5485 explain your logic, then.
@@brianzembruski5485certainly is… that’s why affirmative action has now been thrown in the bin… it’s racist against everyone but blacks. Always has been always will be.
No you don't. You have a Data system on every genome of the World. The Genome project completed.
@@brianzembruski5485 Not a good response. The last answered question in this video was most revealing in that it shows the extent to which this lawyer standing up for legal discrimination will go to. If race is at all considered, it is still considered and as such - you have a winner and a looser. Did not agree with Sandra Day when she first suggested that 25-year experimental ruling and I think this latest ruling by SCOTUS is perfectly legitimate and overdue...by about 22 years.
This lawyer, like Justice Ketongi Brown Jackson, was given the difficult task of defending admission discrimination, contrary to the Constitution.
Democrats screaming The color of your skin being the most important possible factor of an individual is absolutely insane and totally ass backwards from their claims of inclusion and all that mumbojumbo
Qualifications ! Thats is all there is. Color/ race Exculded.
We don't scream that. The people who lie to you daily and laugh at how gullible you are TELL you liberals scream that.
It's incredibly hard to believe that black applicants have the highest empathy scores.
Really?? So you feel the racial group that produced Adolf Hitler, Jeffrey Dahmer, Son on Sam, Stephen Paddock ( Vegas Massacre) BTK Killer and Adam Lanza, has better empathy than Black people??. Because I don't...
This lawyer really sounds guilty. Thanks to Forbes for letting us hear this. It should have been on court TV.
I wish we could watch this live…. I would love to see Justice Alito, Justice Thomas and others in action. Incredible.
Just finished watching sound of freedoms !!! Excellent movie 🎥 must watch . You think you walk around with your head up high as an American 🇺🇸 you will walk with your head down 😢 all I can say save our children THEY ARE NOT FOR SALE..
It is not that these lawyers were bad; It is just that they were asked to defend an impossible position.
Funny how AG can push for answers but he can't answer a question himself!!
BOTTOM LINE:
IF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION HAS NOT FIXED IT, BY NOW, IT CANNOT FIX IT.
The lawyer said, "it's not in the record, but"
If it's not in the record, then you shouldn't be bringing "opinion" to Scotus for consideration.
If it's not a decising factor in their decision then why is it being asked on the application? No relevance than take that off the application

If students have higher marks, it usually means they are smarter.
*_OR THEY ARE BIGGER CHEATS!!!_*
*_I've been all over the world and have never met anyone intelligent to where I thought they were truly smart. Most honor students are slightly Autistic, 1000% cheats and self entitled about something with parents somehow involved..._*
No it does not. Heard of "cheating"?

Michelle Obama's 'Heart Breaks' Now That Asians Are Getting Fair Shot at College Admissions😂
Hahahaha
She just wants everyone to remember her big mouth and her fake tears.
Really Why?? Her sister in law Barak Obama's half sister IS Asian...Her name is Maya Soetoro-Ng. Are you insinuating she hates her OWN family.
It should be illegal for them to ask about race, in fact, no information even remotely related to immutable characteristics should be given to those evaluating admissions, even the applicants name should not appear until the decision is made.
I consider myself a very, up front type of guy.... Why can't people answer questions anymore? I ask you a simple questions and I get an answer that has nothing to do with it.... I don't get it....
This is The United States of America. We as Americans were raised for generations as a mixed race of many colors and opportunities. The less fortunate have been given more free services, more free access to the tools to succeed than the middle classes that do not qualify for those same free tools and services. Working sometimes 2 jobs to save for their education and healthcare and the tools needed to obtain the same opportunities of those less fortunate. The problem is the free recipient does not utilize these opportunities and most are unwilling to put in the hard work to better their situation. They are complacent to their situation and many are just unwilling to do the work themselves.
They think they are being Controlled due to Income
Guess Pocahontas was lieing lol
Alito is spot on. Why check a box for race. It's discrimination, because college admissions is based on race.
The internal perspective never ceases and so people like to pretend that that lawful parson. is although bound hy science, time compels it to deny itself to it's very heart disease.
Does anybody believe that in this country, black personality score is higher than that of any other races? i.e. they are kinder, more empathetic, and have highest integrity? According to the admission office in Harvard!
Go to Africa. Find out how empathetic, kind and integral, and compassionate they really are. The proof is in the legacy. Which countries do they all want to get to and never want to leave?
@@karenharrison885 really? One has to go to Africa to seek the truth about black people in the US, most of them were born here in the US? We are not talking about international students here but US residents or citizens.
Chicago has the most inclusive loving murder rate in the country
From these soundbites, it seems that the lawyer had already conceded to the conservative wing’s construction of the civil rights act, which, in this moment, seemed to be that its prohibition of race-based government action bars all universities that accept any federal money from considering an applicant’s race unless the applicant references their race in a personal statement. Although I can see how a competent lawyer could have argued for a different interpretation of the rule, I cannot see how a competent lawyer could have argued for a different application of Alito’s interpretation to a college admissions program that considers race.
A applicant is 18 years of data
That elizabeth warren is native american
No she isnt
Not gonna lie, I literally laughed outloud when I read that 😂 I'm sure it was intended to be dry sarcasm, but either way, it was funny af

Race should never, ever, be a check box on ANY form in the US !!! It matters not at all! The only mark should be for US citizenry!
I want to go to the Supreme Court
why whats there

I wish i had a Rock solid identy of nationality. The 2030 senus will state it.
What’s the point of expensive education in USA 🇺🇸 when top paid professional careers and employment positions are handed over to imported refugees, legal USA imported temporary or permanent residents from other side of Earth which are educated in their countries of origin or other foreign countries. Our own federal government is being ran by many foreigners with 2 or more legal citizenships and who were not born or at least raised and educated here in USA 🇺🇸.
Race should never be considered
It should be by Merit and character
Lawyer says race can be a benefit factor but then it suddenly cant cause it is not the matter of this case. Give me a break...
Alito is basically what RFK Jr's voice would sound like if his throat wasn't completely f--ked up
If race was a factor, we would never had all the famous Arab mathematicians and Renaissance scholars
personal score is there to find a reason to discriminate against asians
What is you're 1/1024 part Indian like Elizebeth Waren?
People hate the Law think it's bible
Govt orders colleges to let more blacks in they do it , they just figure out ways to do it .
Thomas and Alito prove that the Supreme Court is the best Court that money can buy!
🤔
Quid Pro Joe proved that an Ape with Aids is the best POS a foreigner can buy 🤔
Saying a whole lot of nothing.
They forgot to outlaw photographs in the applications
