** I checked online and Yonsei doesn't say anything about Ihouse being a female dorm so I'm sorry about the misinformation !!!!!! But for Ihouse, they have communal bathrooms while in SK, you get your own bathroom in your room
Can you talk about your part time jobs too, I mean beside all these we need to earn money too while studying so will you talk about it?
Thank you for answering these questions! I'm going to Yonsei for the YISS program in 2 weeks and this video helped me plan my arrival :)
My favourite vlogger!!!!!! YAAASSSSSS
YOOOO this video was so helpful!!!! I'm studying at Yonsei this fall!!
I'm going to be at YISS this summer so this was very helpful!! Thank you!!
Thank you so much! This is so helpful!
THIS WAS SO USEFUL, I was nervous about how I would get from the airport to Yonsei, thank youuu
Hey Tina! I'm planning my trip too but it's not anytime soon, I just want too make sure I know everything. So I was wondering how long did it take you to apply? The application process. Also are you going there for a full year or just a semester?
Hey Joyce can you do a video on what you personally recommend to pack (clothing and dorm necessities) for a semester study abroad at Yonsei? Thanks
Literally just listening to this is so rough and here I'm thinking of enrolling in Korea University (KU) in the future.
Thanks for the Q&A! I have a few questions;
Do you choose your classes before leaving for Yonsei?
How 'advanced' to KLI classes get? I'm a Korean living abroad (have basic Korean levels)
Also, what is the situation like to have room mates? Did you know your room mate before going to Yonsei? Ive been told single is better but double is so much cheaper!
Yes! The registration time is before coming to Yonsei. I believe I registered about.. two to three weeks before classes started.
KLI classes can get pretty advanced. Levels 5&6 is when you learn difficult korean words that originated from Hanjja (Chinese characters) but levels 3&4 are pretty easy if you know how to speak basic Korean.
I fortunately knew my roommate before Korea because we're from the same home university so it's great living with her.
Living with a roommate is the same as freshmen year dorms, having to live with a roommate
There are obviously things you guys need to work out like shower times, when you're gonna sleep and stuff but usually people are all very accommodating so it should be fine!
but yes of course living in a single would be nicer haha
i'm a junior in high school right now and getting 5 books for 90$ is a dream. at least two of my textbooks were $60+ on their own
Hi! I'm going to study abroad in Yonsei Uni. from this fall and I'm super excited!! Thank you for the video!! ☺️☺️💗💗
Me too :)
Marco210297 hi! Could I know ur kakao ID if u have and don't mind?? :))
I'm AshM21 :)
have funnnn😋😋😋
So how is it going ? :D
cool good to see you reach there ..i wish to be there aswell
Did you like living at SK Global?
I’m studying abroad this summer and am in between living in an apartment or the dorms!
Thank you for the information!
Hi Joyce! I'm studying at Yonsei this upcoming fall, and I was wondering if you have any tips on the housing application for SK Global (what to prepare for with the housing application)/tips on how to get in easier, since I heard it fills up fast! Also, I have a mac laptop, will this interfere with housing applications? Thanks!! Your videos are super helpful!
thanks for making video
That's really useful. Thanks for sharing. Btw, will you stay in Yonsei in summer semester? Just wondering if half-year exchange student will join YISS as well cuz I'll come to Yonsei and sk house 1 month later. so excited
Hey! Thank you so much for detailing your experiences with Yonsei~
I am coming to Yonsei for the fall semester in September so hearing your experiences has been amazing
Please Keep the content coming :) I know everyone really appreciates all your hard work
Thanks again~
Rohanii woww thank you so much for watching !!!! :') I really appreciate it
and yes!! I will work hard to make more videos ~
i'm also going for the fall semester! so nervous but excited omg
That's awesome! We might end up having some of the same classes aha.
It will be amazing to go over there for a couple of months and meet a whole bunch of people. SO much to do and see and more importantly food to eat ~
what course subjects are you going to be applying for? i'm going to be choosing psychology subjects :) and yes omfggg i'm so excited for the food
Psychology sounds cool :)~ I'm doing engineering but I think I am going to try attending KLI classes only. I just want to learn Korean while I'm over there and travel every weekend :D
Have you ever had Korean BBQ? I get cravings for that on a regular basis haha
Hey Joyce, seriously love your videos! How much are the single dorms? How long was your process (applying for a visa, application process) to go to Yonsei for a semester? How hard would you say your classes are?
Thank you so much for watching!! :D
Hm for me, results came out pretty late from Yonsei so it took me three months. The application process is fast for Yonsei, but my school's application took a little longer for me because of professor recs and stuff. Visa should be easy as well.
Classes also depend on which ones you take. Most study abroad classes are super chill and fun while specific major classes have a lot of work load !
Joyce! Where did you find information like that Course Timetable at 7:10 ?
Are there any links that you think are useful for future exchange students at Yonsei? (I plan on going Spring 2018 wooo !!!!)
!! so useful !!
Kaela Lumbantobing heh heh thank you
Is it odd being Korean and being an exchange student in Korea?
Josie Lee not at ALL
Josie Lee lol nope... exchange would love to learn about your culture and language
What do you think about getting a cell phone plan while studying abroad? I'm asking because I like to have a data plan while I'm out and about to help me find my way around. Would you recommend having cell service while you're there? Thanks!
Hey Joyce, you probably won't see this, but I just stumbled upon your videos and I have tons of questions! I'm going to KLI this summer, and being the dumb person I am I forgot to register for other classes... but I don't really know how. How did you sign up for them??? Kinda late ik... still want to try though!
Was the uni (KLI) good? for conversations, hearing etc.. I'm confused
how much time do you have to study or do homeworks? What time does your classes end?
what age do you have to be to register? do you have to wait until you are a graduate from high school? sorry I am wondering this because I want to study in Yonsei university but I am currently living in United States
But what if im gonna be an international student there, do they have dorms for that or do you have to rent your own apartment?
hi! on this december i will join the winter course at Yonsei University then i will stay in SK Global House.
I would like to ask you, is there any wifi connection in Yonsei Uni? And can i use it in my room?
Thank you! have a nice day!
i enjoy your video btw!
Is there a reason why most people seem to stay at sk global house and not international house?
hey! would you guys recommend bringing your own bed sheets?? i've heard they're pretty expensive in korea and tbh the ones provided by yonsei don't look like they'd be very warm lmao
haiiithereee30 hmm if it fits in your luggage, bring it because tbh, the ones they give here is dirty :(
LOL seriously? that sucks :( yeah i think i might end up bringing at least one set. how many suitcases did you bring for the trip there? :)
they also give you a really uncomfortable pillow (idk what it is now but they gave me this weird small thing filled with hard bead material, might have been buckwheat) so I'd just get your own stuff
Hiii! How are you?? Hope you're having lots of fun! I wanted to ask you something, are you gonna be in Yonsei for the Spring or the Winter semester next year?
Thank you for making these videos, they are really helpful ^^
(I'm asking cause I might go there next year and I don't really know anybody 😝 I hope it didn't sound creepy or anything)
Hey! This is so late haha, but I am applying for the Fall 18' semester as a full time student at UIC. What about you? If you want to get in touch, then email me! There are a few others who are going too! ananyajoshiwork@gmail.com
I was going to there and yonsei is university better than in indonesia😢😢
Is it okay for a trainee to study there? how busy are you though since trainees are too
Did you do the winter at yonsei program?
Hello! I was admitted at UIC.. i have some questions.. Can I talk with you in private?
hi, I'm Australian and I have a dream of studying at one of the SKY universities but as they are expensive and prestige I don't think I will be able to do it as I'm not rich and I don't have the best grades. Do you have any tips for getting into Yonsei or KU? what type of grades will I need and is it possible for me to get a scholarship? what are the costs like? can I get a job while studying? will it be hard for me to live there by myself and can I simply do language or do I have to pick up more subjects? Thank you for the video!!
hey.. its been a year. did u achieve your dream? i have the same dream as well 🤗
I heard if you apply to yonsei university and not UIC that you’ll only get so far with English class?? Is that true
Are there apartments around yonsei?
Planning to get to Yonsei, in a few years, I have an intermediate Korean for the moment, which level do I need to get to Yonsei ?
Depends on what you wanna major in
about the TB shot, here in Brasil we take tuberculosis shots as babies. So technically our TB tests in Korea would come out positive. What would students do in this case?
Rebeca VC you have to have a recent TB test. I believe it must be by 2 months or sooner before you arrive. This may differ for you but this is the process for me (I am from the US)
Is there scholaship in Yonsei? And what do you need to get that? Thank you for your reply :))
Depends on what country you're from & what you're majoring in & what your GPA IS
Is the SK Global a lot more expansive than the IHouse? :O Is there a big difference between the two dorms beside the fact that Ihouse is exclusive to girls? :) Between, thank you so much for making videos to help future international students xox
SK is about 300,000 won more expensive than ihouse, but that is if you're in a double.
I house also has a communal bathroom on each floor while in sk, you have your own bathroom in your room!
Anyone going to yonsei fall sem 2017?
which kli level were you in ?
Hello! I have a friend who is also studying as an exchange there in Yonsei! By any chance, do you know Marte Yumin Fossum? 😊
Angel Kaye Tamboboy noo :( I don't think I've ever met your friend before
oh i see! im just trying to ask maybe you know her by chance! 😅 she's also in 3rd year now that's why i thought of the two of you seeing each other
Angel Kaye Tamboboy ill look out for her!!
Angel Kaye Tamboboy Hey my name is Yumin 😂
I wish textbooks at my college was $90. My textbooks are either $100-$200 each 😭
Is it mandatory to live in a Dorm? Can't we live in houses if we want?
It's not if you want to you can live somewhere else but you are going to be lonely
need a passport?
You are major in?
wow thats s cheap for so many books :O
Do yonsei have Malaysian student ????
Aidil Adham they have students from all over the world
