My social media take was: I don't have a take because I know very little about it and I don't like making commentary on things I know very little about, unless they are frivolous things.
I thought this was an incredibly interesting and informative podcast. I felt a little under educated to understand everything tho and would appreciate any recommendations for a history of the philosophies mentioned
what was your point when you said that the cancellation of Michael Millerman "played into the narrative of cancel culture"? How is that anything but plain and simple cancel culture? Thanks for this conversation by the way, it was very informative
Putin's long screed about why he started the war was littered with Duginist concepts. Another influence on Dugin was the early 20th century Russian fascist philosopher Ivan Ilyan.
@@slmille4 Definitely agree with you as far as Putin is concerned. I do think that Dugin still has a large influence on Russia's worldwide propaganda efforts.
Dugin has occult background. There's an article that can be found of his called "Gnostic" in which he speaks of the "Left Hand Path". He might be an satanist of some kind. That symbol on his book, is the symbol of Chaos.
@@h.s.3965 another suggestion I picked up is affirm the opposite, namely Dugin is for Russia what Brzezinski was or is for the Globalists, someone who is instrument of putting their policy to the public to see the response of the public while denying the any official links. And this goes back to the Schism between the Vatican and the Orthadox, and after Constantinople fell to the Muslims the Orthadox Christians that sought shelter under the Tzar developed political and theological notion( very misguided one in my opinion) of Moscow as "Thrid Rome" (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moscow,_third_Rome. You can find these notions put in Dugin's two famous works. This is one of the source of Russian antagonism toward the West.
While both might be reactionary and anti-liberal, Dugin on the other hand does not appeal to morality like Jordan Peterson when he refers to the horrors of "postmodern marxism".
14:29 Vic translates into lib speak for the class. I thought it was a good description but now I'm left wondering if Heidegger is Snape and Dugin is Dumbledore.
Liberalism/capitalism is good. It just isn’t good enough. We need to go forward not backwards, forward beyond it, to solve it’s immanent contradicions it cann’t solve in it’s own terms and to realize it’s claims to freedom in the actual word - that was the point of Marx, which I think still stands today. Liberalism is true, but only as a part of bigger truth, in a Hegelian sense. That’s what all reactionaries miss and I guess it seems naive after the crisis of alternatives and post modernity
I love this podcast very few content like this in the internet, but i dont understand is why everytime you guys disagree you try to put down each other with such meaness, i know in the end you are all pals but i hate when my dads fight!
It's because they are Communists and sort of materialists. (For eg. they swear a lot.) Material is gross manifestation and secondary to formal manifestation, gross is the contrary of subtle. So what you are asking for subtlety from people who are not disposed to it
Can you please point me to the place where you actually lay out and justify YOUR values and beliefs? The ones you stand on to condemn other people? All I can find when I look into the academic establishment and Blue Church, is slippery relativism whenever they talk about their own worldview and beliefs. This is super convenient, as it means that you don't have to prove or justify anything. But as soon as you examine someone like Dugin, you confidently condemn and criticise him for being morally wrong and evil, as if you DO have some kind of objective, universal moral system to judge by. At least Dugin is open and honest in his cultural relativism.
Dugin is probably is a satanist or follower of inverse spirituality. You should know that he's perverse and deeply perverse, so don't think you can understand him by yourself. You'll need help, I know of Grant Scott Fellows who did thesis on it, Charles Upton wrote something against Dugin

Bring on Michael Millerman. It's a must when discussing Dugin.
We asked him. He isn't willing.
Putin's long screed about why he started the war was littered with Duginist concepts. Another influence on Dugin was the early 20th century Russian fascist philosopher Ivan Ilyan.
Also Lev Gumilev and his Eurasianism theory.
I think Ilyin has more influence on Putin than Dugin.

great! tons of commercials on YT. I wonder why so many on this stream but not on others of yours. Thanks loads for doing this.

JBP vs Dugin debate when?
Wtf with these comments

At the least contrast helped temper some apprehensions I've had about Pills' own liberal inclinations.
