Engelbert sang this song very well. We really cannot underestimate old songs, because when Engelbert will be the one to sing it, he sings it beautifully. Even at the highest notes he can reach it finely. And of course facial expressions is there and the interpretation of the song he was able to execute. New songs cannot beat old time melodies.

I've been a fan of Engelbert aka 'Arnold Dorsey' for decades. Candidly? I believe this to be his best/last performance: 'Engelbert Live'. Hard to believe he was about 68 yrs old here (born 1936), and he can still sing, but he is very much showing his age (84 - today) and kinda stays in the filters now for appearances. He has a '4-Octave' range and will always, to me, be one of the greatest singers of all time.
I brought my mom and mother inlaw to one of his shows and it was awesome, he was great and the Moms enjoyed a night out for a change, bless this man,
He still looked and sounded amazingly good for 68.

He was a top 40 artist in the 60s with songs that didn't require too much of a voice, but Elvis Presley himself always said Engelberg had the best voice and this song proves it
