Just to clarify, Elinalise is legit cursed. Her health will gradually deteriorate the longer she goes without having sex until it eventually kills her. The anime kinda skimmed over it jokingly, but in the novels Rudy mentions how she grew sickly during the long journey to the university whenever they couldn't find anyone for her to sleep with. Also Linia and Pursena are the older sisters of those two beast girls Eris befriended in the great forest in season 1.
Fun fact, in the light novel, we don't know that Fitz is Sylphy, he was introduced as a white haired elf that lost his parents and beloved master and can do enchantless magic, so we weren't sure that its sylphy until later.
You would have to be pretty ignorant to not know. When I read this series in full I knew immediately that was sylphie and it’s even harder to hide in an anime when there’s voice acting involved
@@warm4chine755I watched the anime up through S2 E3 and THEN I read the light novels starting from that point which was the end of book 7, so by that time it was already clear to me from the anime that it was Sylphie, so despite some cryptic writing in the books that would momentarily confuse me, I already understood that they were the same person as I read through books 8 and 9. It does make me curious however if it would’ve actually taken me longer to realize had I not seen the anime. Pretty sure I knew immediately at the end of s1 when she was telling the student council to send him an invitation to the school. Then obviously episode 0 didn’t hide it at all which makes me wonder how the books described that whole episode of her teleporting right into Ariel’s lap and her hair color changing mid air.

In volume 8 & 9 of the light novel, there were 4 chapters told from Sylphie (not Fitz) perspective. They had Sylphies inner-monologue, regarding her thoughts about Rudeus & Fitz's relationship, which made it seem like Fitz & Sylphie were separate characters. They even had Sylphie & "Fitz" in the same room, talking to each other at one point. Without Anime/Manga/Web Novel content, it would be normal to continue thinking Sylphie & Fitz are separate characters until the reveal. Sure, there are hints that they are the same character. But there are far more red-herrings the author intentionally included to keep it vague. The Anime did-away with all that. Even as far back as episode 23 of season 1, they have Fitz basically spell out her relationship with Rudeus to Ariel. That scene wasn't canon to the novels. In the novels during that scene, Fitz just said "I know this person" regarding Rudeus.

Clearly this is why anime-only’s can’t believe Rudy doesn’t recognize her. I can’t really blame the anime, however. I find it hard to believe there was a way to fool viewers without cutting out a lot of content and then having to show it later and out of order. I look forward to going back to the beginning and reading the first 7 novels for which I’ve only seen the anime for.
Sylphie have always had an inner feistiness. Sadly, it was cut in the anime, but during season 1, when Paul knocked out Rudy so he would go with Ghislaine, Sylphie saw Rudeus being carried off to the carriage and attacked Paul XD

Cliff interacted with Eris back in Millis while Rudeus was meeting with Paul (seen in an OVA episode), which is how he knows of Rudeus as Eris wouldn't stop bragging how great he was.
Yeah Miss Silent is that character's actual name, right? Whereas Silent Fitz is just an adjective to describe Fitz. So in Japanese it would be two different words, it's a translation issue

Besides, Rudeus hasn't seen her in nearly a decade, and the last time he saw her, she had Green hair.
In season 1, we already saw Rudeus starting to figure out disturb magic while he was still with Ruijerd and Eris. That was one of things she admired about Rudeus, how he continues to challenge himself to learn & grow.

I was a bit disappointed with the reunion too but I'm sure we'll get our satisfaction sooner or later. It has to come out eventually! I can understand Rudy not recognizing Sylphy as it has been years and her hair is now white and she's hiding her eyes and posing as Fitz. I thought Sylphy might tell him at the end but I feel like maybe she really wants him to recognize her? Despite everything? She doesn't want to have to tell him because their bond should open his eyes? I can understand that too.
Cut Rudy some slack. The ENTIRE SCHOOL is also under the impression that Fitz is a guy so there is no reason for Rudy to doubt that. A defining characteristic was also her green hair which is a now white and he can’t even see her eyes. Pretty easy to assume that she’s just a white haired boy elf. She’s also a princess’s bodyguard which is also a role Rudy most definitely wouldn’t expect Sylphie to have. For all he knows, after all these years, Sylphie could be dead. From Sylphie’s perspective, combined with potentially low self esteem, she would be scared that he might’ve forgotten her altogether which makes her revealing her identity very risky and also embarrassing. Not to mention he walked into school with a very attractive women at his side which could lead Sylphie to also believe he’s taken. The best she can do is look out for him and at least be friends in some capacity and see where it goes from there.
Also, as far Rudy and everyone else (except for Ariel and Luke) is concerned, Sylphie is still missing. Since she was teleported into Ariel's presence and Ariel had her change her identity to Fitz, no one else knows that Sylphie survived the teleportation event. So why would Rudy expect or be looking to find Sylphie is one of the most known cities around. That would be like your friend disappearing in Iowa and 8 or 9 years later you going to New York City and looking to see if your friend is anywhere around.
Everyone always forgets because of his cool actions in-between things but all in all Rudy's a very dense idiot who is oblivious to things 90% of the time, he could've realised that Sylphie was a girl when they first met but he was far too convinced she was also a boy even though it's obvious she's not. That he's still "well this is OBVIOUSLY a guy and OBVIOUSLY not someone I know because Sylphie has green hair." is just him being an idiot. It's my favourite part of Rudy, his stupid actions always lead him to situations like this and he really doesn't learn his lessons.

We also know he’s close to Fitz and knows Fitz is Sylphie and that she was really close to Rudy.
What they didn't mention is why all the girls were so militantly upset about it. So this is a bit of a spoiler -- stealing panties has happened before. (Though, I can't imagine that anyone should be surprised by this.)

Rudy is a glass cannon. At a range he can pretty much destroy everything but he's not very good in close quarters.

As a light novel reader, the whole process and journey is well worth it.
