I miss the old soap operas. In my opinion Phillip was a true Spaulding, narcissist, ego maniac almost evil and we women loved to hate him!! Well played Grant.
Beth should have said "You're House, please it's Mama's House, she's the "real" Man around here, she has to pay the bills, lives on next to nothing, has to do multiple shifts at The Hospital, and why because you can't keep a job!" Isn't it amazing how in one way or another The Bauers, Lewises, Coopers and Spauldings were linked to each other professionally/personally. I would have loved for Trish to have a Girlfriend and bring her back to Springfield. Trish mentions Peter Pan, and Mary Martin played Peter Pan on Broadway and her Son Larry Hagman did Two of Guiding Light's Sister Shows The Edge Of Night & Search For Tomorrow.

What I loved about HB is that he didn't have a problem with Vanessa being with Matt at the time when Billy was in Prison. He was so happy for her saying she's pretty much found her Mojo and once again she's that same "Sassy Gal" he knew all those years ago.
Lillian is really such an absurd mother. At the time, I didn't pick up on that in my teen years. She really is ridiculous. I didn't see the scene but practically everyone in Springfield knew about whose Phillip's true father was including Mindy & Rick. When he left Springfield, he stopped at Beth's house and assumed she knew as well but he wasn't angry at her. He was shocked that Beth had no idea about that news and it made him trust and love her even more. I always felt neither Beth nor Mindy had any chemistry with Rick. Bradley did it to get back at Phillip because of what happened with Alan. He couldn't keep the fact that he got let go a Secret forever. Lillian is also living proof that Women have to stay on top of The Business in Marriages. My Mother did and so did My Aunts.

Frank played a Lifeguard when the Family went to California, and Grant played a guy who was part of a Men's Calendar to raise Money for Charity. Here's another sad co-incidence. Jackie leaves Justin pregnant with Phillip and he doesn't know for a long time, Jenna leaves Buzz pregnant with Coop and he doesn't know for a long time.
I just realized that more Corporate Drama took place at Spaulding than at Lewis Oil. Bradley don't wait for work. You won't get any UI, in Canada if you lose your Job and they right M for Dismissed they decide to give you "benefits".

Hall & Oates are in that same boat. John Oates wanted to sell his share of the Catalogue to a Corporation but Daryl Hall didn't want him to. What I don't understand is why Daryl just doesn't buy John out and he'd have full control. As much as he tried, John didn't have the same pizazz that Daryl Hall had. He was like the Andrew Ridgeley of The Act. Andrew was smart in the sense that he had a much happier personal life than George did.
I just realized something. When Trish came back for HB's funeral, she didnt "talk" to Alan. She could have said "You look so different with your Beard."

Lillian totally sucked and failed as a parent. I will never forgive her for not standing up to her monster husband and treating Beth horrible.
😉neither will I😉
I remember this!
Alan,Justin, Phillip, were great in this episode, but to find out who his real mother is,was really, such a great episode.
Here's another sad co-incidence. Jackie leaves Justin pregnant with Phillip and he doesn't know for a long time, Jenna leaves Buzz pregnant with Coop and he doesn't know for a long time.
Loved this show when beth phillip and rick and the beginning of josh and reva .
Alan was deceitful
I just realized that more Corporate Drama took place at Spaulding than at Lewis Oil. Bradley don't wait for work. You won't get any UI, in Canada if you lose your Job and they right M for Dismissed they decide to give you "benefits".
So sorry for him!
Thanks for the upload 👍 !! Was Grant Alexander on this BEFORE he was on Capital..?? Grovey music in the background ?? Xd Hard to believe he was ONLY 23 when he was on this ?? XD
Righr here is why I could never stand Lillian. Her messed up relationship with Bradley and her always taking Bradleys side is what messed up Beth and her relationships with men. I never knew how lillian lasted so long
Right she cheated with her best friend Maureen's husband Ed and Maureen was so upset at the news she got killed in a car crash
This was broadcasted on Michael Jackson's 25th Birthday.
Michael's Thriller project ruled that year, 1983. It was also the year of Motown 25 when
he performed the moonwalk. The year of my high school graduation. Loved The Guiding
Light at that time. An unforgettable year all around.
@@raymondwoodard6779 Yes. Do you realize that in 1981 he did Triumph with his Brothers (Sans Jermaine) and little idea did the Brothers realize that Michael's Career was going to go into orbit. Also alot of Motown Music/Acts appeared on Guiding Light like Ashford & Simpson who wrote alot of Hits for Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell (RIP). Also alot of Guiding Light Alumni did Motown Movies and in the UK the Soap Opera Eastenders did a Musical Salute to Motown singing Songs.
@@laminage I remember when Ashford and Simpson appeared on The Guiding Light
in 1982. They performed Street Corner. A great song. I didn't realize The Jacksons
Triumph was 1981. I do remember the song This place hotel. But for some reason I
thought the songs Lovely One and Can you feel it were on earlier albums. I guess I
need to catch up on The Jacksons discography. Who were the Guiding Light members
who did Motown movies?
@@raymondwoodard6779 Billy Dee Williams (Ex Jim Frazier #1) who was the First Black Actor on Soaps on Guiding Light, who left and was replaced by James Earl Jones. They did Lady Sings The Blues, Mahogany, Claudine and The Bingo Long Travelling All Stars & Motorcycle Kings. It made History by being the first and only time an "Original" Actor and his Replacement worked together. Also Four Guiding Light Alumni did Dreamgirls that debuted in 1981, and alot of Motown Music was played on Guiding Light. A Jazzy Version of I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Shout by The Isley Brothers before they went to Motown
Who cares
Bradley is jealous of Phillip and Beth. That’s why he told Phillip that Alan was not his father and he is nothing. Bradley hurt Phillip because he wants Beth for himself.
This would have been some time in July 1983? Or early Aug at the latest?
Aug 26, 1983
I always wanted Phillip and Beth to stay together. I never liked Lujak, ever. Ah well. 😉 #AMillionYearsAgo
I agree it was great stories of all the families until it became the Reva show. Too bad. I wonder why they did that & ruined the show.
Ha! You get married, have Lizzie (Named after her Grandmother Elizabeth), and is spoiled, manipulative, lies and gets her payback when she loses her daughter for Five Years.
I watched this wonderful series starting in 1966 and it was ruined when the Lewis clan took over. Never could stand Nola and Quint, they were mismatched and Nola, she should have never been given a recurring role. Nor Vanessa, and Henry Chamberlain.
I did like the Lewis clan though 😊 they made it very interesting 🤔
That reva was a mess but I loved Kim Zimmerman she was gorgeous!
Never understood the Chamberlains though...didn't see the need for em....
Sharon Woods Nola was great BEFORE she met Quinton
I liked Reva 1983-1985. Story by 1987 had fun it's course....Reva just wasn't interesting, yet remained center of the show😬
