The gap between Taesic and 3 other lead vocals in all Japanese albums has always been closer from the start comparing to the Korean albums. Jessica already lost her throne once to Tiffany in the girls and peace, and TTS's debut even made her suffer more in 2013. Remember I got a boy? She gained a bit back in 2014 as TTS went steady and SM would turned their attention to her sub-unit with Krystal, but then 930 took place and everything was too late.
but Tiffany got more than Jessica in I got a boy becuz of rapping lines tho :? she got only two actual singing parts, Jessica got 1 long part and bunch of short lines but anyway, she got more singing lines in that song than Tiffany. Also, Tiffany part was cut out in the later stages, so their lines were not that much different anymore. Plus, in the pre-released song which is Dancing Queen, Jessica got most lines. And considering the whole album, Jessica still got pretty much lines, and adlibs as well. She harmonized and sang nearly every songs' chorus in that album (so far we got Dancing Queen, XYZ, Romantic St., Look at me, Express 999, I got a boy, Talk Talk) So anyway, although she and Taeyeon did not dominate the line distribution like the way they were, Jes was pretty busy in the studio more than anyone else in the group except Taeyeon despite how much you guys sitting there nagging about her lines...

That could literally be said about almost any song in their discography lol. There’s a bunch of songs where Taeyeon and Jessica have a multitude of lines that can be sang by others. This is just one song

@@ifu138 Tiffany has adlibs, the intro, a chorus, a pre chorus, the bridge and the post chorus 3 times Jessica has 2 verses, a chorus and "who's riding motorcycle" twice For a lead vocal to sing this much over a main vocal does really sound out of place, also if it was only the intro then fair enough is a TTS intro, but then out of 3 post choruses Tiffany was randomly given the "who's riding motorcycle" when she and TaeSunSeo had already sang their parts Also worth mention they *sang* throughout the song, Jessica was just about speaking until her last chorus, that's definitely not how you treat a main vocal
maybe they want this song to be "bold", Tiffany got the exact voice to delivary that feeling and Jessica voice tends to be more light and elegant, I guess? cause 2 out of Jess' lines were edited quite heavily showed how the producer of this song doesn't know how to appreciate her voice .-.
i think they just liked how tiffany sounded doing it. The companies and song creators are coming from a different place than fans are. fans, esp those who watch these videos, put a lot of emphasis on singing time, without much nuance
