After watching this video, I am reminded of my time in high school. I went to a school that had boarding students from more than 20 different countries. The language of communication was different. Not only was the language spoken often foreign to me, but the body language of these students said a lot to me. For example, students from Spain were very physical and touchy. I find it so interesting that even though I have previously studied and explored culture in other courses, it has started to take on a whole new meaning from a business perspective. Culture is an extremely valuable factor to take into consideration when doing anything business related! This video opened my eyes to how culture is able to have a lasting impact on the business world and allow me to see how my own business adventures will be affected in the future.
After watching this video, I learned about how culture is like an "iceberg" and how it deeply influences our decision-making, relationships, what we eat, and even what we wear. My boyfriend was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I was reminded of a video the Cleveland Clinic made about empathy. The video shows individuals in a hospital passing each other in the halls, riding the same elevator, and communicating with each other. Each individual, however, is encountering something different in his life. One is going to see a new-born baby while the other is anticipating the death of a loved one. There are some that are anxiously waiting for a surgery while others are celebrating a successful surgery. Some experience pain while others have recently been cured of their pain. Being aware that others will most likely have a different perspective will help one understand and communicate with others better.

After watching this video, I am reminded of my time in high school. I went to a school that had boarding students from more than 20 different countries. The language of communication was different. Not only was the language spoken often foreign to me, but the body language of these students said a lot to me. For example, students from Spain were very physical and touchy. Often in American culture, this would be considered overstepping boundaries or flirting.
