I appreciate how this lecture expands on the intersection of culture and the workplace. This video speaks on the vast array of culture around the world, but also shows how this impacts the business practices on the basis of power distancing, individualism, uncertainty avoidance, gender-oriented culture, goal-orientation and degree of indulgence. All of these attributes show there is identifiable factors differentiating business cultural norms across the world.

Before this course, I had never heard of the Hofstede Cultural Framework, but now that I understand it, I realize how essential it is for understanding culture. I appreciate how promoting awareness of cultural diversity can help bring people together by fostering better mutual understanding. This really helps in understanding how different societies operate and interact. Perfect for anyone working in international business or just curious about cultural dynamics.

This video did a great job at defining the Hofstede Framework and the components that tie into it. This video signified the importance of rising cultural diversity in the workforce. Based from what I learned in this video, I think it's important for us to understand this framework as it helps us understand one another and embraces strong companionship in the workforce. Businesses use this to their advantage by recognizing and adapting to these growing cultural dimensions to lead effective international operations and grow cross-cultural relations with other countries.

I found this video incredibly interesting because a class I took in the past discussed Hofstede’s Cultural Framework, so I was excited to watch this and learn more. I can absolutely agree that all countries fall in different areas on the scale for each characteristic. One of the limitations that I found particularly compelling was that there is not a one-to-one relationship between culture and nations. Living in the United States, I can definitely see that we have general attitudes that most people live by. However, the US is also a hub for immigration, so our culture is constantly adapting and blending with others which can blur lines in Hofstede’s framework. Aside from immigration, the US is also a massive country with diverse terrain, and this absolutely impacts culture. Applying Hofstede’s framework to the US is interesting to think about, but I really enjoyed that this video pointed out that there are exceptions to the rule!

This video and class definitely have me intrigued by Hofstede's Cultural Framework. How he breaks up the six dimensions to compare different cultures is interesting and helpful. I found the short-term orientation and long-term orientation dimension fascinating. Just like how businesses have short and long-term goals, countries and the societies within them do the same: either focus on their short or long-term success. I appreciate that this video also points out the limitations of Hofstede's Cultural Framework, especially the one that stated Hofstede assumes there is a one-to-one correspondence between culture and a nation-state.

I believe this is a good video on Hofstede's theory about how cultures work. Even though he was only looking at one company, I believe he did a great job nailing down some key aspects about different cultures. He hit the nail on the head with individualism and collectivism, and how the U.S. and Europe are more individual, while Middle East countries are more group-oriented and collective as a society. This video is good to explain why some countries do the things they do; great video!

Hofstede's culural framework helps in the breaking down and understanding of how and why societies influence and change the course of business. There is an endless list of factors affecting the trajectory of business, but Hofstede creates a simple and concise understanding of the influence of different curltures. This was an especially interesting video to watch since I hope to work in other countries in the future, by having this outlook and possibly applying the framework to compare a new country to my own counrties' scores, I can see how much adapting I will need to do and what changes to highlight so that I can be successful in my travels.

The framework consist of power distance index- how acceptable, individualism v. collectivism - whether society works together or not, uncertainty avoidance- degree to which a society engages in conflict, masculinity v. Femininity- how harsh gender roles are, long- term v. Short-term orientation- extent to which society views time, indulgence v. Restraint- extent to which society allows gratification.

I enjoyed how this video took Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory and showed how countries created their values. The idea is very simple to understand that countries cultural values are created by the interactions within the country. Many countries are just now receiving foreign investment long enough for us to see how foreign impacts can actually alter a countries value as well. I believe that there is more that can be said about countries and their values beyond just the Hofstede theory, but the theory works well in showcasing it simply.

This video had great examples of other walks of life orientation, and was easy to understand that the differences in culture across countries discern the ways that business is done across different cultures.

This video was by far the best explanation of Hofstede's Culture Framework that I have received in a course. For the most part, other courses would just list out the different categories are. It was much easier to get a grasps on the true meaning of the framework when you look at real life examples of different cultures.

This was my first time learning about the Hofstede’s culture framework, this video provided me with a solid understanding of what this framework entails. I never thought about things like power distance, but with the examples provided it was easy to understand/see the different dynamics.

the part of the video that I found interesting was the Indulgence vs. restraint restraint dimension of hofstedes cultural model because it explains how factors like social norms and freedom of speech play a part in how westernized countries choose to spend money compared to eastern european and asian countries. very informative video.

I found this video very interesting because although i had previously heard of Hofstede's cultural framework before I did not quite understand it. The video put each dimension into very simple terms which helped me better understand masculinity and the indulgence frameworks which I did not get how these would affect the business world.

Learning about diversity is very important. Having diversity within a company is important. Many companies should be taught about diversity and the overall positive effects diversity can have on a company.

Hofstede's cultural framework is important to understand as diversity continues to increase as time goes on. It provides a deeper understanding of many cultures and can be looked up at any time for reference. Understanding each category can provide a lot of information for a specific culture and can be useful when trying to show respect.

Hofstede's Culture Framework in correlation with culture in different societies. The importance of knowing culture norms, and social norms in different countries can make or break your experience overseas. I love the debate between individualism and collectivism- I side with a collective society, even having grown up in the US.

I have always been interested in things like personality differences and how different cultures operate, so I found this video very interesting. I think Hofstede's metrics are useful tools for understanding how different cultures work, and anyone planning on engaging in international business or in any international engagement could benefit from understanding these measurements and being able to use them to know what to expect from the different countries they interact with.

In business, it is important to learn the tendencies of people and how certain cultures can affect the production of workers. I found Hofstede's cultural framework interesting because it highlights the fact that certain countries will view work differently. This is useful to know because some businesses may be ran differently and it is important to be able to adapt to best fit the people around you.

I found this lecture to be one of my favorites! Learning how the way people are in different countries and the way they have specific terms was super helpful. I always knew some countries to be more relaxed and some highly restrictive but I now know that they can be described in terms of power distance, uncertainty avoidance, etc. I've known some European countries to be very relaxed but I found it really interesting that France has a high uncertainty avoidance. It was super neat to compare the different terms to where I'm from (Honduras). Such an insightful video!

I really enjoyed this video. It is very interesting to me the difference between the long term and short-term orientation. It makes sense to me that the United States falls under the short-term category. I also liked that with each culture there were countries tied to them to give better ideas of what the culture is like.
