I have been there and i hope back some day . Really one of the most beautiful places on earth+ very kind people. Much easer and cheaper to get there then Bora Bora with not less beauty and more attraction.
I've been to Moorea (J'ami Moorea, la plus excellent paradis) and I'm guessing that Moorea is about 5 million years old. Because I've also been to Kauai and Rarotonga and both their mountains had a similar rippled erosion and a similar landscape sloping down into similar-looking beaches. I know Kauai is 5 million years old so I assume Moorea and Rarotonga are as well.

The white sand beaches of Moorea are pure and white. One can see sea cucumbers and fish in the lagoon near the scary barrier reef.
