  • Multiple-group SEM is a popular method for comparing groups on a wide variety of hypotheses. An often-overlooked step to ensure that these comparisons are meaningful is the evaluation of measurement invariance, either across groups or across time periods. When testing for measurement invariance, we ask questions like, “Are there cultural, demographic, or other individual differences that preclude responding to instruments in similar ways?” This webinar will introduce the basic concept of measurement invariance and how to evaluate it in a four step procedure using structural equation modeling. This process will be demonstrated using Stata software.
