Very awesome. America's Best is edging my lenses right now so hopefully they will be ready later this afternoon for my Amazon Echo 3rd generation smart glasses. :)
All completed jobs should be rechecked in the Lensometer to assure the lenses are on axis and that the finished pd is correct. I myself, I’m a licensed optician.
All in one is neat! How do you go about doing a workload in that case? Where I am we have an Essilor Mr Blue blocker and Mr Orange edger! While lenses are glazing we do padding up ready to go when the current job is done~ Given we are a certain UK store with a catchy slogan (hint hint) we do work en masse- depending on ordering and lenses we can do 40-60 jobs a day~
No need to "up" these days. The edgers do have setting adjustments if you find you need a constant +/- for a particular frame material. You can also do adjustments for an individual job but no need to do it for every one.
@@VisionaryEyeCenter OK then! I'll add it to the list and probably bump it up towards the top. Maybe by the end of February. If you are looking for immediate help - email me through the website and I'll see what I can do for you. John
Not sure what you are asking. OK to email me through the OpticianWorks website. I'll help you if I can. But - it is 5:00 on Friday and I'm about to call it a day... John
Glad I could make your day! I do have a question for you please. Just got a new pair of Oakley Trajectory glasses and they have a 6-base wrap. I got Oakley Progressive lenses P1.67 with their Stealth AR. Problem is I can see the edge of the lens in certain lighting conditions and I find that to be unattractive. Do I need a rolled/polished edge? Also is a base-6 wrap ok with progressive lenses? Thanks!!
@@planetfabulous5833 Someone may be able to change the bevel placement a little to hide that leading edge of the lens where you are probably seeing the edge of the polarizing filter (see the video about bevel placement). But you probably do have some lens/frame style conflict there so don't expect any miracles. A progressive MUST be run on the base that it requires. You can't play around to get a better match [regardless of what you might see/hear]. So, it would depend on what the frame curve is and what the lens curve is. We will release a related video on this next week. John
I absolutely LOVE your videos!!
Thanks!
I love you , I really enjoy to see your videos , It has been a Blessing for me your channel here at RUclips thanks a lot

You can begin entry for the next job as soon as you hit start on the current one.

Hi John,
great video and new edger!!!
Is ther any particular reson why you use manual instead digital lensmeter?
Because that is what I have. And even that one is on loan from a very kind Marco. Our operating budget is roughly $0. John
@@LaramyKOptical does laramy-k only make lenses? No lab service?

Would you do one of these but for progressives? Or do you have a video available already?
Yes already done - That would be the videos on decentration and blocking of lenses.
@@LaramyKOptical Thanks a lot!! Very useful!!
Now repeat this with a patterned edger. :)
Did it a few 1000X in my life! Technology marches on.
He's yummy!
