The Best step by step of any I've seen. He takes you through the process patiently, giving you a clear picture of what you do at each step. Great guy and great teacher. 👍
Sir, I am a retired journeyman industrial electrician who worked as a maintenance technician for over 30 years after giving up a job as a certified auto mechanic. Even with all my years of experience, I still find many useful tips in your videos. Your video about programming remotes for garage door lifts was helpful to me even though I worked on programmable logic controllers for years. I have to tell you that your tips are spot on for the average homeowner and I am sure people all over the world appreciate you for the hours of hair pulling and the thousands of dollars you save them every year. Thank you sir for giving easy to follow tips for the everyday homeowner. Again, thank you sir and keep up the good work.
I have been installing doors and operators for 30 years. You sir are absolutely EXCELLENT!!!! Keep up the good work and don’t forget to disable slide locks on door!
The instructions are all online now, it was on the bottom of the User Guide. I did the same thing looking where the heck are the instructions, they put a idiotic QR code for the instructions… it downloads an APP, BILT Intelligent Instructions then you pick the Garage Door Model. Really idiotic to not include paper instructions, nor not having it standout on the box that the instructions are online.
I removed the noisy, chain drive opener and installed the belt drive by watching this video. New opner is much quieter! Thanks for uploading the video. I also replaced my Accord's brakes watching your video! Thank you again.
Thank you sir, this video really helped me out with my Chamberlain 2022 model B2212T. I was able to put it together today. You the man. Just noticed this video is 4 years old. Great job on the video.
BLESS YOU!!!!! The manual that came with the opener did not do any justice to the programming step... I've been reaching out to Chamberlain and googling all morning. I actually said "Lord what the heck is going on".... and I found your video!
Let me start by saying THANK YOU so very much best step by step video I've ever come across on utube.my brand new garage door opener has been on the shelf for 2 years until i came across your video and today it is completely installed!! Shot out to your camera man also!
God bless you! Your video helped me get my Chamberlain opener in very smoothly. I have a smaller garage and had to adapt, but you spelled it out perfectly. Thank you very much!
Excellent video! I just bought 2 C2202 models and neither one had an installation manual! Just an operations manual. Very frustrating. I found the manual online but this video really helped.
Wow.... I gotta say, “thank you!” I purchased this exact same system on Amazon. Found your video last night and today, I installed my opener while watching your video again. It went so smoothly and I never even opened my book from the factory. I’ve a head injury and following instructions from a book is a challenge. Thank you brother!
Awesome video!! Great quality. Great camera work. Extremely knowledgeable throughout the whole process. As a young first time homeowner I successfully replaced my first garage door opener thanks to you!! Thanks again!!
Thanks a bunch for your straightforward and thorough instruction. I wasted time using another video. But in the end I got where I needed to go with your help.
Thank you sssssssssssssssssssooooooooooooooooooooo much! You saved me so much time and even the hassle of finding a right person to fix my garage door. I wish you all the best that life has to offer, thanks again.
Great video! One thing I encountered that may help others with newer Chamberlains. I just installed the Chamberlain B4505T. I set the travel adjustments like you did. But for some reason, the wall control and remotes would not open the garage door! The darn unit would just blink twice, mocking me! I've installed many Chamberlains in the past, and this has never happened before. I spent a couple of hours rechecking my wiring, re-reading the installation guide, to no avail. Then I happened to see another video where after setting the travel limits, the guy initiated a travel test run by clicking the up arrow once, and then the down button to close. Apparently the unit goes through an automatic force adjustment up and then down, and then (and only then) was everything working and I was able to open the door. The dumb thing is the installation instructions do not tell you to do this. It just tells you to set the open limit, the close limit, the unit will blink twice, and you are done. But clearly that is wrong. You have to click the up arrow one more time to let it go up. Then click the down arrow to test the down limit, and then all is good.
You are the best! I got the model B4545 in French, so I went on RUclips....Boom...Saw your video and followed step by step...Got it done! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH and Happy Thanksgiving!
EXCELLENT PRESENTATION on how to install this garage door opener. Very detailed and professional. I definitely will be watching more of your videos. Thank you for this AWESOME video!
I am sure glad you did your research on this unit, because I did the same and came up with this same unit, except mine is chain. Thank you! Wish I found you before. I love your style, is similar to mine.
Brilliantly done video!! My 1994 garage door open finally died today (funny thing, I just started thinking about the door opener dying a few days ago) It was quick, well taped, and easy to follow! There is no doubt your video will save me half the time to install it. My new door opener is coming in a few days, I will let you know.
tom chittenden it’s funny that how you were thinking about your garage door opener dying. I was thinking about mine a few weeks ago, my left garage door opener went out a few days ago. Ironic lol. Mine were 2002 lift master. What brand did you have?
tom chittenden and what kind is your new one? If you don’t mind me asking. I haven’t ordered mine yet. Looking for a good recommendation. Thank you for your help.
Same here. 20 yr old craftsman died. It was super loud with old chain. Purchased the 540 with myIQ. This video was very helpful. Watched it before putting up. Reading those instructions is painful but this made it look fairly strait forward. Thanks again!!
@@getitdonehomerepair So Im finishing up the install. I actually watched your video while doing so. The only difference I saw between your video and the instructions on their Bilt app, they said to rail should not be level. I leveled mine, just curios if you had any issues. I can drop the motor a little to slope it a little but didn't want to bother with it if it wasn't really needed.. Thoughts?
Thank you for focusing on exactly how to determine the height of the bracket above the door. Most videos skirted by this and I just couldn't fill in the gaps confidently. Thank you!
Excellent video. May I suggest, however, that you insert an audio addendum AFTER programming the travel? Once the garage door is at the desired bottom position, and you press the round black program button, you will see the UP arrow button start to flash again. You are now supposed to press and release the flashing UP arrow button which will cause the opener to go back to the desired OPEN position. Then the DOWN arrow button will start to flash. You are now supposed to press and release the flashing DOWN button which will stop flashing once the garage door reaches the desired CLOSED position. This part of the exercise sets the force.
very good video!! i am installing the same model tomorrow, mine crapped out today after 20 years. I have the battery back up model is only difference. New CA law due to fires we had and people couldnt open garage and escape apparently.... You know how CA is. Wish me luck. Again great job.

I appreciate the video. followed very closely. used the programming tips you had at the end and set the open/close, but when we try to use any of the openers the light just flashes twice and nothing happens. have you ran into that before?
Thank you. Just bought my moms house one and I will definitely be using your video to help install(I’ve watched it a couple times to help before I actually do it lol)
Nice thorough tutorial, the written directions are lacking and fingers are in the way in the pictures explaining what buttons to push when setting. I noticed you tightened the ( belt tensioner setting spring mechanism) turning the square nut counterclockwise as you held the other end with your flat screwdriver, does that have a left hand thread thread on it?
Love what you did. I was cringing at 7:00 mark because my door has a whole 1-1/2 inches clearance from the highest point on the door to the ceiling. The rail itself is probably an 1" deep - LOL
I installed it 5/3/20 using your directions and put quick turn brackets on the top corners. I got a whole 1/2 clearance from the rail, but it works. Remotes are easy to use, but I have no clue how to use the keypad and wall controller yet. Thanks
Thank you Don. One thing you find out very quickly on RUclips is that no matter what you do or say someone will not be happy. I hope my video was helpful
Hi-at 30:00 when you are first opening door-how did the door get engaged with the carriage to lift? I thought it was released and at the front by the door itself? Did you manually lift door and pull it back on the track to engage the main carriage before programming?
Hi Thanks for the very well made video instruction but one thing you forgot to mention before set up the program is sending the trolley toward the door by pushing down button then set up the program as you mention in the video .
My belt seemed tight when I put it together on the floor but once the entire thing was in place the belt is loose and saggy when in operation. I replaced the belt and a piece of the bar with the extension kit because I have an 8 foot door. How do I adjust the slack so the belt doesn't dangle and catch on the carrier piece? You make it look so routine and easy! 💋
I just installed mine with your helpful video ( thanks ) I do have one question though , if the sensor is broke while the door is coming down shouldn't the light flash ? Mine doesn't it just kicks it back up.
Yes, I intalled my garage opener only to discover the 'motion detector door control' is not responding. Any troubleshooting advice? Everything else works. Thank you.
I don't see where or how you ran the wire from the sensors to the motor unit. Did you run them inside the beam? on the top or back side secured with zip ties?
No I ran them up from the sensors along the wood that the track is attached to and then along the ceiling. I used wire staples that came with the opener.
After you connected the door arm the outer trolley is not engaged with the inner trolley did you have to manually open the door to renegade the two trolleys before travel adjustments?
We purchased a new Chamberlin. It did not have instructions in the box. We replaced it ourselves, with the help of you video. Thank you very much! Very thorough job of explaining!!
