As a 6w5 - this is the most positive discussion about 6s I’ve seen. Usually I leave feeling depressed and discouraged. Thanks for helping me see the good side of my personality.

Type 6 here. Emotional abandonment sucks too. Usually when people abandon, it's more or less an emotional abandonment. They may still technically be in our lives, but are emotionally unavailable, they give the silent treatment/stonewall, they withdraw emotional support.

Enneagram 6 to the core here! 🙋🏼‍♀️ I've watched plenty of Enneagram 6 videos and wow you really captured a lottt in such a short time. My fiancée is a Enneagram 9, and we are a match made in paradise.. Really! He understands and is patient with me. His calmness feels like home.. It is true that the 6 and 9 are the best matches between the Enneagrams. Thank you for the great video!!

Thank you very much for this presentation about Enneagram 6. I relate strongly to what you said about fear motivated hypervigelence, humor, and commitment to people and organizations I trust. We 6's seem to be often overlooked by the typical Enneagram presenter. Thanks for including us!

Thank you for presenting this in such a positive light and focusing so much on strengths. I've watched some other videos on type 6 and have come away feeling judged or discouraged. Your video had the opposite effect.

Thank you so much for this detailed explanation! I just took the test and came out a type 6 - today is my first day hearing about enneagram types!

Amazingly accurate and a clear description of the six in my life (my boyfriend- lucky me!). I appreciate the way you explain the 6’s ideal self. I’ll be gently supporting these ideals for him.

Another video said you can’t be two types but I got 4 and 6 and feel both of them very much. Makes me question this stuff but still fun to learn

The Enneagram shows that we have one main type, but then it has much more depth to show how other types play into your whole personality. Check out our “EnneaWhat?” video where we discuss the structure of the Enneagram.

Never really paid much attention to these tests but man type 6 hit the nail on the head, then took one of these surveys and type 6 comes up as my main go figure. The fear of being alone or better put being LEFT ALONE is horrifying but knowing and fearing what people may do to you if you let them too close is an evil dichotomy for me. Always waiting for the next shoe to drop or being betrayed by the ones you let close.

I'm ISTP and Enneagram 6. Could you make a video explaining this personality type please?

Thanks for this. Just wondering, how is one's core longing different from one's core desire? Is there some quality that makes them different?

    • @YourEnneagramCoach

Great question! Our Core Desire is what we always strive for and believe will bring us complete fulfillment in life. The Core Longing is the core message that we long to hear and experience.

At the risk of sounding callous, am I the only one who thinks that having an inner committee berating you and needing to constantly scan for what could go wrong...sounds like mental illness, not a personality type?
I think that I'm a type 2 or 4, but I'm in the exact headspace this video is talking about whenever I'm seriously depressed.

Hi Erik! We appreciate your observations; thanks for commenting. We all, indeed, have various parts of ourselves. We are rarely just one thing. Internally, we all have competing inclinations, thoughts, and feelings. There are two things you should consider. First, take a look at our mistyping guide found at www.yourenneagramcoach.com/mistypes. Second, watch episodes 119 and 120, discussing the Enneagram Internal Profile for Type 2. You can do the same for Type 4.
