Even though I appreciate how you promote Turkish music or try to discover new music from around the world, I must say that I don't think listening to well-known new generation rock stars is the best way to understand Turkish culture. I too listen to Şebnem Ferah of course but I think the reason I enjoy her music more (comparing to a western rock singer) is because I can listen to more western kind of tunes in my own language. However, if a Canadian person wants to know what Turkish music sounds like, I think Anatolian rock is the right place to go. (These are of course my personal opinions, I might be wrong.) That's why I would like to suggest a few songs which are (I think) closer to define what today's Turkish/Anatolian music was originated from back in the 60s and 70s. Barış Manço - Dönence ruclips.net/video/77ygz-MC6_8/видео.html Erkin Koray - Krallar ruclips.net/video/yaP2vXGBa9A/видео.html Cem Karaca - Emrah ruclips.net/video/P8fjAY_368g/видео.html Tülay German - Burçak Tarlası ruclips.net/video/kMqEDm49lNA/видео.html Unfortunately I couldn't find a live version of Tülay German singing this song, so here's the Evrencan version. ruclips.net/video/9vZx2rtNHPo/видео.html And lastly, Altın Gün - Tatlı Dile Güler Yüze ruclips.net/video/tW9i87V_Spc/видео.html The song is originally by Neşet Ertaş, a Turkish folk music singer. Altın Gün is an Anatolian psychedelic folk band, they mostly cover traditional songs in a unique way. I think this would be a good introduction to Anatolian rock. I hope you enjoy it!
Glad I’ve stumbled upon your channel. Great content. I was there back then. Good times, great memories and so many emotions. Thanks for a trip down the memory lane buddy! Sebnem was being accompanied by the symphony orchestra in that concert. That’s why you’re hearing all those ensembles and symphonic vocals. Give her album records of the same songs a chance as well when you have time. Good luck!
Thanks for your lovely reaction. Please listen also HOŞCAKAL song of Şebnem Ferah. Lirics is awesome too. This album, i mean dear Ferah is sing from deep soul. Regards.
