it only works with organic strawberries. The regular ones you buy at the store are full of chemicals and pesticides. you will be really lucky if you get any that aren't organic to grow.

It works with normal strawberries. Place the strawberry slice onto paper towel until it's dried and gently brush the seeds off. (Dried strawberry smells AMAZING btw) Place the seeds on top of soil it needs light to germinate, moisten and cover with plastic wrap/cup. Keep moist and warm. It will take a while to germinate I think mine took like 3 weeks or more so start indoors if it's too cold outside. Granted your strawberries will be very different to the og strawberry but that's fine.
Bonus points you can harvest the leafs, clean them, leave on the counter to wilt(couple hours). Roll them between your clean hands and shove them in a jar and leave it for a day(this is oxidation which is how black tea is made), dry them out and you have strawberry leaf tea that tastes pretty okay. You can also use fresh leaves but they taste more grassy.

Although I'm sure this could work in very fortunate scenarios, this video is BS clickbait. Those strawberry plants he's showing are bare root bought from a store which are probably propagated from runners at a nursery and not seeds. It's incredibly difficult to grow strawberries from seed and usually not worth it.

I’m not sure if it matters because if you think of the natural cycle of the plant - it will drop to the ground, rot, spread it’s seeds and they will grow into a new plant. I could be wrong but it seems to me like it will still work if it get moldy as long as the seeds make contact with the soil.

Commercial strawberries use pesticides and inhibiting horomones to prevent spoilage, so the fruit will rot before the seeds sprout. Use organic strawberries and keep the soil moist but not soggy. Sprinkling cinnamon can also help prevent mold from growing
